Chapter 11: 𝐼𝑋

A Shriveling FlowerWords: 8813

You know when you're having one of those depressing sad days?

When everything seems like it's against you.

When all you want to do is stay in bed and pathetically cry over yourself and your life.

When the weather is matching your mood.

And you're on your stupid period.

Well this is exactly what was happening to Lily on Tuesday morning. It was the next day after Jason's unexpected 'visit', if that is what it could be called.

She was so thankful for his concern and his lovely gesture, she couldn't stop thinking about him. She didn't tell her parents about what happened, that'll only cause more drama and her parents will be concerned and that was the last thing she wanted.

So back to the topic, Lily contemplated if she should go to school with the stupid cramps or just stay home , curled in bed , and just relax.

She already missed a day though and the school will inform her parents if she skipped another day without her explaining why she was absent yesterday.

With a sigh Lily got off her bed and had a race with gravity to the bathroom before the red niagara falls ruined her panties.

Admit it ladies we were all there at some point.

The harsh rain drops hitting the window was such a soothing melody to the ears. However, it just gets you in a mood to sleep and be lazy all day and Lily couldn't afford that at this moment.

As Lily finished getting ready she stared at the window then at the bed that was calling her to hide in his sheets.

Lily faked a cry and hugged her pillow resting her head for a second on it.

"I'm gonna miss your warmth"

A tear dropped down her cheeks and Lily had to mentally slap herself.

'Stop being dramatic'

Lily blamed it in the period that made her moody and caused her hormones to be all over the place.

And somehow Lily ended up cursing the men's species while wishing she could be a man herself.

'Why weren't I born as a boy? At least I wouldn't have to worry about this stupid period anymore and I would be able to walk on the streets at night and wouldn't have to..."

Lily directly headed to the class the moment the bus reached the school grounds. She wanted to sleep on her desk before the bell rings.

Jason, who shared the same class with Lily, saw her grumply throw her bag on the floor then lay her head on her arms that were placed on the desk.

'What's up with her?'

Jason never saw Lily's sad or grumpy face. She was always smiling and full of energy, except for yesterday of course.

"Hey" Jason poked Lily , trying to get her attention.

"Jason. Don't. Poke. Me. You know I hate when someone does that" Lily gritted out with her head still down.

"Who pissed in your cereal?"

Lily sighed loudly and turned her head sideways so that she could look at Jason.

"I'm just having a bad day?"

"Why?"

"I don't know"

"Is it about period shit?"

Lily stared at Jason with slight shock before getting herself together "It doesn't have to be about period for a girl to have a bad day"

Jason rolled his eyes "Just answer the question"

"That's none of your business"

"So it is period" he confirmed.

Lily was about to deny , but a strong cramp stopped her as she clutched her abdomen in pain and bit her lips to not make any sound.

"And that proves my point"

"Jason" Lily would appreciate silence for a few seconds, he was ruining her plan to sleep.

"Let's go"

"Huh?"

"Let's go. Come on"

"Where ?"

"To the nurse, you're obviously in pain."

"It's okay , I'll be fine"

"No, we're going. Either you get up willingly or I'll carry you their"

At the exact moment the bell rang and the teacher entered the classroom. Lily sighed and glanced towards the teacher and then back to Jason as if she was telling him mentally 'The teacher is here we can't go".

Jason understood the glance Lily gave him so he got up from his crouching position next to Lily and headed towards the teacher. Few words were shared between them and Lily noticed the teacher glancing at her then nodding her head.

"Come on, we have a free pass"

Lily sighed and got up. Don't mistake that as being rude, she was thankful for Jason's help, but her exhausted body dreaded the Idea of having to walk to the other half of the school while the stabbing feeling in her abdomen was still lingering.

Lily always experienced painful periods to the point where sometimes she would throw up. She always envied girls that have painless periods.

Like come on, do they know how lucky they are?

As Lily stared ahead at the stairs she had to take , she almost cried. A strong cramp hit her and she couldn't stand up anymore so she just sat down on the stairs.

Why didn't I stay home again?

"Are you okay? What happened?"

"I'm fi- scratch that I'm dying" Lily groaned and closed her eyes while clutching her stomach.

Jason crouched in front of her again placing his hands on her knees.

"What should I do?" Jason cluelessly asked.

Lily opened her eyes looking up at his worried face, if it was any other situation she would've laughed at his expressions. He looked like a lost puppy, but that also warmed her heart knowing how much he cares.

Another strong cramp hit her and she bit her lip to prevent the moan of pain from escaping her mouth.

"Fuck it" Jason muttered before placing on arm under her legs and the other behind her back, holding her princess style.

"What are you doing?" Lily squealed in surprise.

"Taking you to the stupid nurse, why the fuck is her office on the other half of the planet?"

Lily chuckled through her misery with her scrunched eyebrows. She didn't know whether to cry or laugh.

Jason glanced down at Lily's face and felt his heart tug seeing her in this state. It was already hard seeing her in that state yesterday and now again today.

He couldn't stand it.

Finally, they reached the nurses room and Jason kicked the door with his foot, barging inside, scaring the nurse in process.

The nurse was startled and looked angrily at the door, but when she realized that it's Jason King, she bit her lips and stayed silent.

He placed Lily on the bed and explained to the nurse what's wrong. The nurse gave Lily two pills of painkillers and even offered a hot water bag to her.

Lily didn't want it at first ,but Jason insisted and wouldn't let her move at all before he's one hundred percent that she's okay.

Somehow Lily managed to fall asleep. Maybe it was because her body was exhausted from the pain or maybe the hot water in such cold weather lured her into sleep.

Either Way, she is not complaining since she woke up feeling much better and rested. She glanced down and her hand, which felt warmer than any other part of her body.

Jason's hand was wrapped around hers as he was soundly asleep in the chair next to her. He was sitting in an awkward position, his head laid in the bed Lily was currently occupying.

He would probably wake up with a sore neck and back and Lily felt bad for him. Afterall, he was here for her.

On the other hand, butterflies were filling Lily's stomach and heart and mind as she stared down their intertwined hands and then at the peaceful ,calm and beautiful face that belonged to Jason.

He acted all scary and cold , but in reality he was caring and sweet and cuddly just like a bear.

That's why she chose to call him Jasey bear , it suits him.

A sudden thought crossed Lily's mind as she hesitantly inched her other hand towards Jason's face. She felt like a creep watching him in his sleep, but she couldn't help it.

He was heavenly.

It was not a secret that Jason had one of the longest lashes she's ever seen. It was not fair, why would he be blessed with such beautiful long lashes?

Why do boys need long lashes?

Lily cupped his soft cheeks and slightly moved her thumb, caressing his face. Her thumb then moved dangerously closer to his lips .

'Damn, Lily, what are you doing? You're such a creep' she scolded herself.

Running her thumb over his pouty lips, Jason released a breathless sigh and she immediately pulled her hands back.

Jason's eyes twitched before he blinked a few times until he managed to fight his sleepy daze.

"How long have you been awake?" Jason asked. His voice was hoarse and laced with tiredness.

Oh lord, men's voices when they just woke or when they're tired are bliss to the ears.

'This period is making me act like a hormonal teenage girl' Lily thought.

'I mean I am a hormonal teenager but that's not my point'

"Uh.. A few seconds ago"

"How are you feeling now?"

"Better thanks, you're a lifesaver, Jasey bear"

"Ugh, not this again" Jason complained massaging his sore neck.

"I'll go get us some water and food, daffodil" Jason mocked, throwing a wink at Lily before exiting the room.

You're a huge teddy bear Jason King and I'll be damned if I don't prove it.
