"Because ,fiore, I don't like sharing what's mine"

Lily unknowingly stilled in her place at Jason's words.

Did he just call me ...

She couldn't believe it . It's not like she didn't like it , oh heavens know how happy she was. But, was he just joking? Or does he mean it as if she's HIS best friend?

"Don't overwork that little head of yours" Jason said as they stared into each other's eyes.

"What do you mean by you don't share what's y-yours?" Lily couldn't help but question him; she needed him to be clear with her.

Before Jason had the chance to answer her , his parents approached them. They wanted to know who's the girl that got their son head over heels.

"And who's this beautiful girl?" His mother asked with a kind smile on her face.

"This is Lily, my friend from school. Lily those are my parents"

"Nice to meet you Mr and Mrs. King"

"The pleasure is all ours , dear"

"So you're the girl my son punched a guy for?" Jason's dad asked, causing Lily to blush.

"Um yeah I guess" Lily awkwardly chuckled.

"Dad." Jason warned and looked over his mother for help.

"Leave them alone, honey. You did way worse when you met me"

"That I did. Anyway, we have some guests to go and greet, enjoy the party."

"Thanks dad"

Lily also muttered a thank you before they both left, not before Jason's mom gave Lily a hug. The sudden affection was a shock to Lily , but she quickly recovered and hugged her back.

Guess she's a hugger.

"Your parents are very nice , your mom especially she's so sweet"

"Thanks, I'm sure they liked you , too"

"You think so?"

"I know so"

The party went on. Lily and Jason danced more , talked ,laughed and even took some selfies.

They eventually sneaked out of the party and went on a walk to get some fresh air.

Somehow Lily and Jason went into 'best pick up line' challenge.

"I was looking for it for a long time, where did you find it? It's so beautiful"

"What are you talking about? What were you looking for?" Lily asked.

"Your smile" Lily laughed out loud at that.

"So beautiful" Jason whispered.

"What?" Lily didn't hear what he said so Jason changed the subject and threw another cringey line at her.

"What's a smart, attractive man like me doing without your number?"

"That's so cheesy and you already have my number , and I still don't know how "

"Magic"

"So you're a magician?"

"Yes ma'am"

"Well that explains why whenever I look at you, everyone else disappears"

"Smooth" Jason said , a slight smirk on his face.

They both reached a nearby park and sat on one of the benches. Lily was cuddled in Jason's jacket that he offered her when they left the ball.

Lily was thinking of another pickup line when she noticed Jason staring at her.

"Why are you looking at me ?"

"There's something wrong with my eyes"

"What do you mean? Did you get something inside of them?"

"No i just can't take them off you"

A chuckle left Lily's lips as she tilted her head backwards , and that was a heavenly sight for Jason.

"Do you like raisins?"

Jason scrunched his eyebrows in confusion and shook his head.

"Well how do you feel about a date?

Jason was caught off guard and laughed at that.

"Well I would actually love a date. You and me , on next Saturday"

Lily's eyes shone bright with excitement as she fought her smile " For real?"

"Of course"

Eye contact is a dangerous thing and it looks like that's all they've been doing tonight.

"We should probably head back, I don't want to be grounded"

"Yeah let's go"

"Wait" Jason stopped Lily and looked at her with worry.

"What?"

"Your hand looks heavy-can I hold it for you?"

"Oh my god, Jason, you scared me" Lily lightly slapped his arm as Jason laughed at her scared face.

Neither the less Lily still held his hand.

"Speaking of home. Can I follow you home? Because my parents always told me to follow my dreams."

"Hahaha do you practice these at night or what?"

"Nah I be so tired because of you"

"Me?"

"Yes you , you be running on my mind 24/7"

"Oh come on! How are you so good at this"

"Looks like I'm the winner, and you have to give me my prize"

"And what would that be?"

"I haven't decided yet, I'll tell you when I do"

Weekend went by so fast with Lily replaying the events that took place during the ball, in her mind.

It was now Monday and Lily woke up feeling like shit. She had a severe headache and was running a fever , in addition to the unbearable pain in her right leg.

And to make things worse neither her parents were home. Her dad went early today to buy some new plants to his nursery and her mother accompanied him.

Lily didn't have the energy to get out of bed and eat something so that she could take her medicine. It's like all her strength and energy were nonexistent.

With that Lily decided to go back to sleep in hopes that when she wakes up again she'll be feeling better.

Jason waited infront of Lily's locker for minutes now and she still wasn't their. At the sound of the bell Jason whipped his phone out of his pocket and called her, but she didn't answer.

He called her twice, thrice then one more time, but she didn't pick up. Jason didn't waste any second and headed directly towards his car.

Maybe he was being weird and she probably just slept in, but he just wanted to make sure she's okay.

Better safe than sorry.

As he reached the White's house , Jason headed towards the front door and knocked more then once. Few minutes went by and no one answered the door .

'Maybe they went somewhere as a family'

Jason was ready to leave until he heard the sound of glass shattering coming from the house. At that Jason scrunched his eyebrows and went to the side of the house, specifically to where Lily's bedroom was located.

Her window was open and the curtains where slightly moving from the soft breeze. Within seconds Jason was up their and making his way inside.

He probably shouldn't be sneaking into people's houses without permission. Maybe they just didn't want to have people over today.

But Jason could care less. He just wanted to know that Lily is okay.

The sight that was infront of Jason made his heart run cold. Lily was on the floor with glass scattered around her and blood seeping out of the cuts caused by the glass.

"Lily!" Jason rushed towards her.

She was burning up.

Jason shook her, trying to wake her up, but all he got in return was a groan from Lily.

"Come on, Lily, open your eyes for me"

"Jason" his name left her lips in low whisper.

"Yes, it's me, open those pretty eyes, fiore"

Lily barely managed to open her eyes the slightest bit as she mumbled how tired she was.

"It's okay, fiore, I got you" Jason said , placing Lily in the bed and went to get everything he needed to get her better.

Three hours later, Lily's eyes flattered open as she tiredly looked around her room in confusion. She looked over toward the clock which read eleven thirty.

She definitely was feeling better than before, at least she can get out of bed now and the pain wasn't that bad now.

She winced as she put her weight on her palm and quickly pulled her hand towards her only to see that her palm was bandaged.

More bandages were placed on different parts of her body and Lily was never as confused as this moment.

The door of the bedroom opened revealing Jason with an apron wrapped around his neck and torso. He was holding a tray in his hands and stopped in his tracks when he noticed that Lily was awake.

"Jason?"

"Oh thank God you're awake, Lily"

He placed the tray next to her bed then removed the apron tossing it aside before sitting on the bed next to her.

"How are you feeling?"

"Uh I'm okay? But what are you doing here?" Curiosity was visible in her tone.

"I'll tell you while you eat this soup so that you can take some painkillers. I never, not even once, cooked in my life so don't raise your expectations"

"You cooked for me?"

"Yes, now stop talking and eat"

After Jason explained everything to Lily and she was done with her soup , Jason took the plates downstairs and went to grab painkillers.

Lily quickly rummaged through her drawer before grabbing her actual medicine and quickly swolling them without water.

She didn't want Jason to ask questions.

Jason returned back with the painkillers after Lily told him where to find them. Taking them with water this time, Lily sighed and looked at Jason.

"What?" Jason asked as he noticed her looking at him.

"Thank you, Jason, so so much. I don't know what would've happened to me if you weren't here"

"Anything for you, daffodil"

Lily smiled at the nickname and surprised both of them as she threw herself onto Jason and hugged him tightly.

"Meeting you is the best thing that ever happened to me, jasey bear."
