In my old bedroom, in the corner next to the bathroom door, sometimes I could see a shadow at night if I blinked my eyes quick enough.
I made it into a game, but as time went on I could see the dark shape without moving my eyelids, and I realized that every night it got a little bit closer.
We moved out of that house a month later.
And it was a good thing we did because the night before we left, that thing was standing at the foot of my bed.
