Chapter 43: XXXXIII - "Fucking Kai"

Silent But Deadly// COMPLETED✔️Words: 11863

Soldier and I were now driving in Robin as we made our way to the mansion. All of the guys were following behind and I even got a call from Williams asking if I were trying to kill them, it was too funny.

I turned the corner and the iron gates of the mansion came into view, I stopped beside the finger print scanner and waited until the gates had opened. Once they had opened I drove through the bare trees that still had the Christmas lights in them to illuminate the driveway, and towards the glowing house. The lights were on and I knew some maids were still in there cleaning up, so I didn't really think much of it.

We all parked near the front door and I rounded the car for Soldier and waited until the guys had exited their cars.

"This is your house?" Liam said gawking at the big structure.

"Yes," I replied nonchalantly.

"It's so big," Jake said in astonishment.

"C'mon you guys probably have houses bigger than this," I chuckled nervously.

They all looked between each other and shook their heads no. I gave them a confused expression but shrugged it off and made my way up to the front door as I carried the boxes of pizza in my hand.

I sat the boxes down in the kitchen and started eating a slice when I noticed the men gawking at the interior of the mansion, "Stop that it's weird," I mumbled.

"Sorry it's just, just, wow," Williams commented. I rolled my eyes and they started grabbing slices themselves while I threw one to Soldier, and he skillfully caught it.

We all ate in silence until Blake spoke up, "So where's this bomb?" He asked curiously.

"In the armory," I replied blankly.

"You have a fucking armory?" Kai asked in shock.

"Dude didn't you have one in your house or something?" I asked confused. I had never really explored Kai's house because I thought I'd stay there long enough to do it, apparently not.

"No!" He exclaimed.

I rolled my eyes and started making my way down the hallway towards the armory with the men in tow. After many twists and turns, I finally stopped behind the titanium door and pulled out my set of keys.

"Are you sure?" I asked Williams as I held the key in my hand.

"Positive," He replied excitedly.

I let out a sigh and twisted the key in the lock, and pushed open the door to the dark room. They all stepped inside and I shut the metal door behind me before I turned on the lights.

When the lights flickered on the rows and stacks of weapons that hung on the walls sat there silently, awaiting to be used. The men looked around the room in awe and gawked at the many dangerous supplies.

"How many are there?" Liam breathed as he looked around the walls.

"1,287," I mumbled quietly.

"How the fuck do you have so many?" Austin asked.

"Jewels always liked to be prepared," Richard said from beside me.

"He was one hell of a hogger," Joe chuckled. The other guys chuckled as well and I started moving towards one of the many green metal cabinets that held all of the bombs. I pulled the key out and hesitantly started unlocking the cabinet.

I opened the doors wide and examined the many explosives until I had finally gotten the one that I needed. I pulled it out carefully and held it with both of my hands towards Williams.

"This is it," I said as I placed it on the center table.

"It's so small," Ogus commented.

It was true, the box was small but it held a lot of dangerous substances inside that could blow this whole mansion up to pieces. The explosion can go far, it can kill many, and that's why I was so unsure of it.

"Don't judge a book by its cover Ogus," Kai mocked.

Ogus instead rolled his eyes and cleared his throat, "When and where will this take place?"

"I have an old loading area now, thanks to Ogus," I said glaring at him. He gave me a sheepish smile and nervously chuckled as I continued, "So we can use that space since it's almost three miles long and this bomb can only reach a maximum of one and a half miles so the area will be empty and wouldn't hurt anybody in a nearby civilization. We can put a timer on this bitch and use a small button to activate it and hide it somewhere between the crates. But we can only do it when all of the amount of men are there and their leader, understood?" I asked harshly.

The men stared at me in surprise at my swift explanation, "How long did it take you to form that plan?" Joe asked surprised.

"About five minutes," I replied as I shrugged my shoulders. I then placed the bomb back into the cabinet and locked it up before we walked out of the armory and I locked it as well.

"You guys can stay the night if you want, it's pretty late and I don't want you guys driving home drowsy," I offered with a smile.

"You know what, I'm in," Williams yawned.

"Me too," Liam and Austin wiped their eyes.

"Please," Ogus groaned.

"You sure boss?" Richard and Joe asked and I nodded my head.

"Sure step sissy, and we can drive to school tomorrow too," Liam said as he slung his arm over my shoulder.

"Well somebody needs to finish that pizza," Blake chuckled.

I looked to Kai and I gave him a small smile. I didn't mind him sleeping in my house because even though I'm upset with him, it doesn't mean that I still don't care. I didn't tell myself not to care, I told myself to not get distracted. My heart still loves these boys and my mind goes woozy whenever I'm with them, and I love it.

"Sure, why not," Kai rubbed the back of his neck nervously.

I perked up and clapped my hands, "Sleepover!" I giggled and they laughed at my enthusiasm.

We all walked back to the foyer where I had the maids show everyone their rooms except for Blake, Liam, and Kai. I walked them up the stairs up to the third floor and showed them the guest bedrooms. We were all tired and I still needed to get up for school in a couple of hours, and I needed to go through some files for the business. I've been so engrossed about finding this man that I've been putting the other businesses on hold, and some of them really needed my attention but my mom's vengeance was corrupting my focus on different things.

I walk down the stairs and make some coffee before I get some things done in my office. I set my bag down on the floor and Soldier sleeps right next to me. I go through the files for a couple of minutes until I hear a knock on my door frame.

"Hey, what are you doing up?" I asked as I continued to look through my papers.

"Can't sleep," he said as he plummeted down on the huge bean bag in the corner.

"Seems like you haven't gotten sleep in awhile, what keeps your mind busy?" I asked concerned.

He let out a sigh and ran a hand through his hair, "You."

I set my pen down and rubbed my eyes, "Kai, we can't-"

"But that's exactly the problem Diamonds, we can. I'm sorry for what I did to you, and I know it's going to take some time to forgive me and I'll wait as long as I need to for that to happen but I can't live without you in my life princess. I can't sleep, I can't eat, I can't even work properly. Please Diamonds, I need you in my life, don't push me away," he begged as he crouched down next to me.

I turned to face him in my chair and he rested his head on my lap. His hands cupping both sides of my thighs as I watched his breathing grow heavy.

I wanted to give him a second chance, I wanted to forget about all he had done to me and forget about the pain he had secretly caused me, but something deep down inside me said that I couldn't, yet. I needed to get this mission done first and now, more than ever, I couldn't have any distractions. I needed to find who this mystery man was and take care of him so my mommy can come home. I wanted her to live a safe and happy life with Jared by her side and watch them grow more in love with each other every day. Jared had filled that hole in my mom's chest from when father left, and I was so glad that Jared came into her life.

I hesitantly placed my hand on Kai's head and the tingles ran through my hand at the contact. I moved my fingers through his brown locks and he let out a sigh of content. I continued to do that for awhile until he lifted his head up to look at me.

"You need to sleep," I whispered. He nodded his head and I led him to the huge bean bag and he laid his head on my stomach as his arms wrapped around my waist and his legs tangled with mine. I continued to play with his hair until he fell asleep on top of me. I was still wide awake and I didn't see myself sleeping anytime soon, so I decided to resume on my paperwork.

But when I had tried to get up from my position, Kai's hold on me was strong and prevented me from moving forward, so I did the one thing that was reasonable at this moment.

"Soldier! Here boy!" I whisper yelled to him.

He slowly woke up and made his way over to me, "Get me those files," I said pointing to my desk.

I didn't expect him to understand the words I was saying but I hoped he understood what I was signalling too, and thankfully, he did. He walked over to my desk and carried a couple of files back to me in his mouth. I thanked him with a belly rub and he fell asleep next to the bean bag while I continued to go through files and make some calls to other people about both our illegal and legal businesses. I even checked up on some drug shipments that should be here around next week.

After I had made the dozens of phone calls and sorted through the mountains of paperwork with a sleeping Kai on top of me, the sun was already rising and I knew it was time to get up soon. After trying to escape Kai's hold for a few minutes, I finally released myself of his grip and went into the training room to get some adrenaline pumping through my blood.

I had worked on some moves on the punching bag and did some basic workouts to get myself started for the day. I did some running on the treadmill for almost 30 minutes until I felt a presence behind me.

When I turned around Liam was walking in and admiring the training room and even stopping in his tracks to look at himself in the mirror.

"Wow, conceited much?" I joked.

"Of course, who could say no to these?" Liam flexed his muscles and I laughed.

Once I had died down I started walking out of the training room and through the house to get to my bedroom, "So what's up?"

"Where's Kai?" He asked curiously, "He wasn't in the guest room this morning when I went to go wake him up."

"He's in my office. We had a talk last night and he fell asleep on the bean bag," I simply stated.

Liam stopped in his tracks and looked at me with surprise, "He slept?"

"Yeah, what's the big deal?" I asked confused.

"He hasn't slept for days, almost a month," he said shocked.

Month? I thought Kai hadn't been getting sleep for only a couple of days. I thought he was getting at least two hours a night, but I didn't think it was none at all.

"Why not? He must be exhausted," I said concerned.

Something must've clicked in Liam's mind once we reached the fourth floor because he looked at me with pitiful eyes, "Diamonds, he misses you," he said softly.

I sighed, "I know. And I miss him too, and I want to make this work again but everything that's going on needs my full attention right now. We can't let anything get in the way of this mission and I don't want to be the blame for anything going wrong," I explained sadly.

He nodded his head in understanding and looked back up to me, "Can you at least sleep in the same bed as him? He really needs his sleep and maybe you can get him to eat too. If his mind was working properly he would've been contributing more to this mission," he asked with hope in his eyes.

His body did look a little frail, and his skin didn't look as toned as it had before, it wouldn't hurt anybody if we slept together, right?

"Alright, but go get him in my office and tell him to get ready. We have to get to school," I ordered. He smiled and gave me a hug before going into the elevator that we had and went down to my office.

"Fucking Kai," I mumbled and I got ready for school.
