30. It's time.

"Ooo," Jessica moaned out as she was woken up from a cramp in her side. It died down as she turned to get more comfortable just for another one to hit a few minutes later.

She sat up in her bed realizing that she wasn't going to be able to go back to sleep as quick as she wanted to. She grabbed her phone as her other hand went to her side where another sharp pain set in.

"Shit," she let out lowly as she looked at the time seeing a text from the girl, Marcy she met up with earlier. She smiled as Marcy texted her and said she enjoyed lunch with her and thanked her for being willing to be a friend, just like Jess she was new to the area but due to her husband getting a better paying job in the area.

They had met at Friday's, Jessica wasn't going to do any private outing with someone she had yet to meet. They had to meet in public in case there was anything shady. She sent her a quick text back, knowing it was late as her cramps died down for a few minutes.

She locked her phone thinking she could lay down again, but just as she did another shot through. This one worse than the others. Contractions. She thought as she realized she now needed to time them. If they became less than five minutes apart she knew she needed to call her midwife.

Jessica became slightly nervous as she thought about possibly about to give birth she was scared. She picked her phone back up to call Mateo, but seeing that it was two in the morning she decided against it until a few minutes later another one shot through. Seven minutes. She repeated to herself. She quickly phoned Mateo.

He didn't answer as the phone rang and rang. She hung up and called her midwife seeing as how she was so close to her contractions being five minutes apart. The midwife answered asking if everything was okay as Jessica explained what was going on. The midwife quickly let her know she was on her way since Jess planned on a home birth.

Once Jess got off the phone with her she phoned Mateo again, this time he answered groggily. "I think he's coming." She let out as another contraction shot through that caused her to scream out in pain. "I don't know if I can do this." She cried out as Mateo quickly woke up and sat up in his bed. "Shit," he panicked as he got up out the bed. "I'm going to call my mom and try to get the next flight out. You got this Jess, I promise. You can do it. I'll call you back."

He quickly got off the phone as he called his mother who answered quickly. He told her what Jess told him as she quickly got up and threw on some clothes to head to Jessica's.

Meanwhile Jessica was now up trying to do some of the stretches they told her to help with the pain, but no one told her it was this bad when they hit. She heard a knock at her door, she slowly started making her way down she felt like she had to pee more and more with each step. She opened the door with the contractions settling down as the midwife stood at the door. Jessica smiled at her.

"Has your water broke yet?" She questioned. Jessica shook her head no as she headed to the bathroom as soon as she sat on the toilet it felt like a huge gush if water. "I think it just broke." She yelled out.

Jessica had been laboring for hours and she wasn't sure how much more of the pain she could take. Mateo was able to get a 5am flight and had been calling to check every hour. He was just praying his son would hold off until he got there, and luckily he did.

Mateo walked into Jessica's as he saw her on a exercise ball. She had only a bra and some panties on as she looked like she was in pain. She opened her eyes as she caught eye contact with him. She smiled automatically making him return it as he rushed over to her. He stood between her as he pushed her hair back and placed a kiss on her forehead. "You got this," he whispered.

She brought her hands to his arms as she shook her head, before dropping it down another contraction coming through. He could feel her body tense up from the pain as she tried to breathe through it. He looked behind him seeing his mother and the midwife get the birthing pool ready.

"Jessica let's try laboring in the water sweetie, it might help with some of the pain." The midwife stated. Jessica looked up at Mateo who felt bad for her. She looked like she was in so much pain. He helped her stand up as they made their way towards the pool, it was now 10am and she just wanted the baby to be here already. She couldn't deal with the pain, she was tempted to say fuck the water birth and just go to the hospital, she wanted an epidural.

"Let's see how dilated you are now." The midwife stated as Jessica neared. Jessica didn't even have the energy for words at this point, not nice words at least.

"Six centimeters, that's two that you went up in the last hour. If you are dilating 2 centimeters every hour the baby will be here in about two hours."

Jessica was sliding her panties off before getting in the water as she stopped to look at the midwife. "Excuse me? Two hours? Oh no, I can't do this for another two hours. Take me to the hospital. Drug me up."

"You've came this far, you can do it Jess. Try the water first, see if it helps." Mateo encouraged. Jessica rolled her eyes at him causing him to laugh lightly as she submerged in the water.

"Plus," his mother stated as she came to Jessica's side, the opposite of where Mateo was. "I was five centimeters one hour with Mateo and pushing the next, you never know how it goes." She grabbed Jessica's hand as Jessica laid her head back, a sharp pain shot through her back. She hadn't had any back labor this whole time why was it starting now. She screamed out as she leaned forward grabbing her back.

Mateo panicked as he looked at the midwife and then Jess, "what's wrong Jess? Talk to me."

"I'm in fucking pain." She screamed out. "Back labor?" The midwife questioned. Jessica just nodded to her dumbass question.

"Mateo you can massage it." She encouraged with a small smile. He moved behind her, leaning over the pool as he tried massage the lower part of her back that was in pain. Jessica relaxed a little as she tried to take her mind off of any pain, but it would only last so long before another contraction hit.

"I can't do this." Jessica screamed out. "Take me to the hospital?"

"Jessica are you sure?" The midwife questioned. Jessica gave her a death scare. "Get me to the fucking hospital. I don't want to feel this shit anymore."

The midwife nodded with slight fear as Mateo chuckled, he didn't say anything because he knew her wrath would be directed at him next. He had never seen her like this so it was clear she was in an obvious amount of pain.

She stood up ready to get out the pool as another pain jolted through, Mateo quickly grabbed on to her as she talked through her pain, "please grab the baby bag somebody, and can I get a towel and my panties and a shirt and some pants. Like something so we can get going. I don't want to feel this shit!" She yelled the last statement. "Get this baby out of me." She cried.

The midwife spotted the baby bag that Jessica has made just in case she couldn't manage at home as Mateo's mother went upstairs to grab some clothes for her.

Mateo grabbed the towel that was nearby and helped her to dry off and get out the pool. Once everything was gathered and Jessica was dressed they headed out to the hospital.

Mateo had used Uber from the airport so he drove Jessica's car there as his mother followed in her car. The midwife didn't come but asked Mateo to keep her updated.

Jessica screamed out in agony as Mateo drove, scaring him slightly, he put his foot on the gas rushing even more to the hospital. "Mateo I think he's really coming this time."

Her breathing got deeper, "we're almost there." He let out. They were about five minutes away. "Mateo," She let out lowly before a scream followed.

She started to push down her pants and panties, she felt like Kaiden was coming. Mateo looked over at her before looking back to the road. He could see the hospital in the distance as Jessica felt herself needing to push.

Mateo pulled up just as Kaiden's head crowned, he got wide eyed as Jessica looked tired and in pain as sweat poured from her face. He parked in front of the hospital letting them know they needed somebody now. "Now!" He screamed when he looked as if people weren't doing anything. "'My girl is about to have this baby right now, he's already crowning." This caused people to start moving as Jessica let out a loud scream with another urge to push.

A nurse came out with a wheelchair as she neared the car, her eyes quickly widening as she pulled out her walkie talkie calling for a doctor. "Try to hold off on pushing okay?" She stated to Jessica.

Jessica was breathing hard as hell as she looked over at her with the nastiest look. She laid her head back to catch her breathing but another urge to push came over her and all this shit didn't feel good. "I feel like I have to push." Jessica stated with attitude.

"What the hell is the hold up?" Mateo questioned as he looked towards the nurse. He didn't enjoy seeing Jessica like this.

Another nurse came out as she looked just as shock, "grab a stretcher!" She yelled out as another person came out behind her. They quickly turned around grabbing one as Mateo questioned why the first nurse was still standing there of no help.

"Okay, let's get her on here." The second nurse that came out stated. "Can you stand up?" She asked Jessica.

Jessica nodded but not before she let out another push, and that was the push that got his head completely out. The nurse came straight to the car as Mateo moved out the way. "Okay, nevermind. Let's finish getting this baby out."

"Take a deep breathe and give me one more push." Jessica nodded, liking this lady a lot more than the others she came in contact with. Jessica did as she was told as Kaiden's shoulders came out, she reached down grabbing him and pulling him up on her chest as she started crying.

The nurse smiled, "now let's get you on this bed."
