The atmosphere at Xueyan had been very intense lately and everybody had been very busy.

“A few newspapers had already announced that our new women’s clothing designed had won awards. The commercials had started as well. Currently they are being played on City Nan Station in Province Lanjiang, Province Hujiang, and City Yang. We are still in negotiation with CCTV. We are looking at starting next week.” Jiang Pei is Shu Yan’s assistant and a very competent one at that.

Shu Yan tapped on the table with the pen in her hand and asked, “How’s our counters coming along?”

“All of the counters are completed nationally and all of the clothes had been shipped over. The marketing team and designers are on their way to every one of them. The counters are being worked on overtime in Hong Kong. They should make the time line. The ones in Taiwan probably won’t happen for another month. As for overseas, only those in City A and City C can launch on the same day.”

Two locations were good enough. Shu Yan gave her order immediately, “Make sure to mention that counters at these two locations will launch on the same day. Don’t make it too stand out too deliberately if we can help it.”

Jiang Pei acknowledged that. It would be her problem anyway. That would be the problem with advertising.

Someone knocked on the door. Jiang Pei went to get the door and it was Xia Ruo.

Xia Ruo was no longer that timid intern that she once was. She had gone overseas with Hu Ruixue and won many awards of all sizes. That might not be much overseas but, in China, she was already a designer with slight fame. Shu Yan promoted her to assistant manager after her return and there were no objections.

“Boss Shu, we just received a call from the factory. They said they are having issues with some fabrics.”

This was critical time right now. Problems with the fabrics could be very serious. Shu Yan immediately called up the factory to get the details. She learned that the batch of materials came from Hu Ruixue, where they purchased most of their supplies from. In addition to the good pricing, there was also a lot of trust. They had never had any issues since they had been working together until today.

Shu Yan called up Hu Ruixue. Hu Ruixue was busy at home and said she would be there in the afternoon.

“Problems with the fabric? I am here with my brother. Let me ask him.” Hu Ruixue turned toward Hu Ruixue after she hung up on the phone. “Shu Yan said the last batch of fabric that our factory had received is problematic. Our tester said that the quality did not meet minimum requirement and that there are a lot of stains with moldy smell.”

They were gearing up for a high-end brand and now they ran into issues with the fabric. They wouldn’t even be able to sell those at a market.

“Don’t freak out just yet. Let me make a call and find out what is going on.” Hu Ruiyang got up to make his call.

“What’s going on?” Mother Hu came out carrying a dish in her hand. “Your brother is busy with his company again? We have agreed that it’s your father’s birthday tonight and there will be no work.”

“Not his company. Something happened over at mine.” Hu Ruixue got up to help her mother. “Nothing too serious. It won’t take long. How come Dad hasn’t join us yet?”

Hu Ruiyang returned after a little while and didn’t say what was wrong. All he said was that someone would take the problematic batch back and deliver a good batch.

“It’s Dad’s birthday. Let’s not talk about this right now. I’ll go over to your company tomorrow and explain it to Shu Yan.” Hu Ruixue pull out a chair and looked around. Frowning, he asked, “Where’s the young miss?”

“She’s still upstairs. Let me go get her right now.” Seeing that Hu Ruiyang looked displeased, Mother Wang quickly went upstairs to fetch Hu Lingyu.
