Shu Yan wasn’t sure what to say about Yingying’s parents. She only found out that Yingying’s brother was scammed by his ex-girlfriend after Feng Zeyu had looked into them.

His girlfriend was gone, along with their 30,000 yuan. Most importantly, their reputation in the nearby area had been ruined, especially that of her brother. It would be quite difficult for him to try to find a girlfriend nearby.

“I just got back from City Yang and brought you some souvenirs.” Shu Yan did not ask about the girl. “How’s Xiuxiu? Is she feeling better?”

“Oh, she is much better. I have been getting her pig feet, chicken, duck, fish, and meats. They really helped. She didn’t do herself a favor by not doing well in school either so her family stopped letting her go to school after she had failed to get into senior high school. I figured I need to hire a salesperson anyway so I thought I could give her a try. She has graduated junior college. I don’t expect her to be a good salesperson but I figured she would at least help out with organizing the inventory and other odds and ends. Turns us she is clumsy and can’t do anything right.”

Wu Xiuyue griped to Shu Yan.

“She’s just 16 years old just graduating from junior college. That’s very young.” Shu Yan glanced over at the girl who was busying herself inside the shop. She resembled mung bean sprout and clothes didn’t look good on her. How would customers be enticed that way? Wu Xiuyue had ran her boutique down to just a regular woman’s clothing shop.

“What do you mean young? I was already helping my mother make clothes when I was 16. She’s so stupid. No wonder she couldn’t get into senior high school.”

Shu Yan felt that that was a bit much. She wanted to pick a young girl because she was cheap then she would also need to spend the time in training her. This was her first job and she was ignorant. Naturally, she would be shy around others. By scolding her instead of teaching her, the girl’s fear would only grow and her performance would get worse.

In the end of the day, that was someone else’s business and Shu Yan didn’t feel that it was her place to comment. “I have other matters to attend to so I am going to take off now. We will get together at another time.”

“Okay. Do come visit soon.” Wu Xiuyue walked Shu Yan out and saw the little girl bringing the water out when she turned around. She couldn’t help but frowned and said, “Why are you just bringing it out now? My guest had already left. I have never seen anyone as stupid as you before.”
