It's been a day since I saw Mr.Khanna. I was embarrassed even to show him my face. Asking me why? After I came to consciousness that day, I remember our positions, I'd slept by hugging his torso and he too slept by placing his chin on my head. Thank God no one saw that. I was embarrassed by our positions. So I quickly got up from the couch, waking him up in the process. Both we were so embarrassed even too look into the eyes of each other.
I quickly thanked him and left his cabin, before he can ask anything. While coming out of his cabin, I bumped into Nila. The moment she saw me, she quickly hugged me and cried.
"Do you know how worried I have been?? I even told you that we'll go to the doctor. But no. Madam won't hear what others say. Right?" , Nila seethed in anger. I gulped so loudly that even other people could hear.
"N-no..i-it's n-not like that", I replied her stammering.
"Ah, I see". She replied in a sarcastic manner.
"Nila I swear. It was just a normal headache. If I again experience this sort of headache, I'll make sure, we'll go and consult a doctor. For now, let's leave this. And don't need to say anything to our family. Else they'll worry too much. Please Nila", I pleaded to her with my puppy face. She sighed heavily, and I knew that I won the game.
"But you won't be driving the car. I can't allow you to drive the car in this situation. So let's book a cab and go", she said. I was about to speak when she cut off me.
"Either we'll go by cab or I'm telling this to our family.", she threatened me. I just huffed in response.
"But what we'll tell them if they question us about the car?", I asked her.
"Simple. We'll tell them either the car got punctured or the car ran out of fuel."
My jaw was hitting the floor. How easily she came up with an excuse. Dang, I'll need her help in the future. "Now go get your stuff, it's already six, we should get going." , Nila told me.
Nodding my head in response, I headed towards my cabin. Collecting my bags and stuff we headed towards the ground floor, and we went outside the building. On reaching outside, Nila opened her mobile to book a cab, when we heard a baritone voice calling us. I don't need any spells to know whose voice is that.? Yes, it's my boss's voice.
"Aren't you guys gone yet?", he questioned us on reaching.
"No sir, we're booking a cab to reach home", Nila answered, whilst I kept elsewhere except him. It's so embarrassing, awkward, etc. etc,
"You guys always go by cab?", he questioned us again. Argh, can't he just leave?
"No Sir. Usually, Akruti will be the one to drive and she'll drop me. But after what happened a few hours back. I can't let her drive today. So I'm booking a cab.", she replied to him.
"It's so late to go by cab now. If you don't mind I insist you people that I'll drop you", he asked us, and my eyes were wide opened.
"NO", I yelled at him. Both turned towards me, raising their eyebrows in a questioning manner.
"No...I mean. I don't want you to take the pressure of dropping us. We'll manage ourselves, Sir. Thank you for your concern Sir", I replied without looking at him. Damn his eyes do make me feel something. Surely he's trying to hypnotize my mind.
"Yes, sir she's right. We'll go by ourselves. You don't need to take any pressure. ", Nila replied agreeing to me. I mentally thanked her in mind.
"It's not a pressure for me. I'll be happy to drop you, people. And it's looking as if it's gonna rain ant time. So please come. I'll drop you at your place.".
I was about to retort when a small raindrop fell on me. "Come let's get going". I just gave a longing look to my baby, whilst Nila started pulling me along with her. And also she was glaring at me.
No one spoke during the journey. It was Nila who was saying the directions to my home, I just kept my mouth shut. And to make the condition worse the rain was pouring cats and dogs. We finally reached our home. I quickly mumbled in a thank you and dashed inside my home. Nila came inside after two minutes.
My family questioned us. Even before Nila could answer I told them that my car got punctured so one of our colleagues dropped us. Nila looked at me suspiciously. Flashing a smile at her, I rushed towards my room.
After having dinner and spending time with all others, we retired to our rooms. I escaped the conversation that Nila was trying to make. After changing into my night suit. I plopped myself into my bed and thought about today's happening.
But I couldn't stop thinking, how peacefully I slept in his embrace. How perfectly he handled me and cared for me.
'Don't you dare go there!! He's your boss. Just stick to it' my subconscious reminded me. Sighing I slept.
I heard someone flicker their fingers at me. When I looked at the person, I felt my breath got stuck in my throat.
"Ms.Arora, I don't pay you for daydreaming, rather I pay you for working", he snapped at me. It was my boss, while I literally shivered at his tone.
"S-sorry sir", I replied to him. After giving me a hell lot of lectures, he gave me three files that needed to be uploaded in the system. All the files are so big. On top of that, I should complete it within Today. Like what the hell?. I take my words back, he's not a sweet and kind person.
Rather an annoying male version of Janice Hosenstein. It was already four in the evening and the working hours get over at five. Wish I had a wand and say 'Avada Kedavra' to him.
He was so kind and nice to me on Tuesday and Wednesday. From the day after I blacked out, he's acting strange. Being so moody, rude. Scolding me for even small mistakes.
Sighing I started to work. It was half-past five when I completed one file. Nila came into my cabin, looking out for me. I told her how my oh-so-sweet-kind boss gave me work. She just brushed it out.
I was about to speak again when Mr.Hoity-Toity made his appearance in my cabin.
"Have you completed your work?", he asked me.
'Is he an alien or what? Handing over these big files, he's asking me whether I completed or not. You douche bag', I cursed him in my mind.
"No sir, But..", I was about to speak when he rudely cut me off.
'How rude'.
"Look Ms.Arora, if you're not interested in completing your works, you can gladly leave the company. Working here requires more attention than others. This is the last time I'm excusing you. Next time I need the work to be completed on time. Since tomorrow is Sunday, I expect you to complete the work and email me the documents before you reach the office on Monday. Understood." He told me in a cold manner.
'How can you expect one to complete all this within one hour you dumbo'.
This is what, I wanted to reply to him, controlling my rage, I just nodded my head, before I could say anything. Telling us to leave, he went and closed the door in a forceful manner, to which Nila and I jerked.
"Okay, that was pretty much rude. But Ru what are you gonna do tomorrow. Tara is coming tomorrow for her wedding shopping and you promised her that we'll accompany her.", Nila said after that muttonhead left.
My cousin Tara is getting married after four weeks. She needed me to accompany her to shopping, whilst I hated shopping. So I introduced Nila to Tara and both got acquainted, but they again insisted on accompanying them. I agreed. But now that Mr. Hoity-Toity has given me less time to complete my work, I have to stay back.
"I guess then you both should be going, whilst I complete my work", I replied to her, she just nodded in response. Even though I hate shopping I like to roam outside and eat foods. I just cursed him in my mind.
'Damn you pompous'
