? EMERALD POV?

It was quiet late in the evening already, and Xavier have not returned from wherever it that he went to. I stood by the door, and watched him walk into the house with a broken look on his face.

“Babe” I called as he made his way into the house, looking devasted.

“What happened?” I asked and he shook his head.

“I don’t want to talk about this?” he said, and I sighed.

“Okay” I muttered under my breath, as I watched him take off his shirt with a calm expression on his face.

“I was worried sick when I couldn’t find you” I said, and he turned to me.

“Really? I was at Jax’s family house, am sure you are very familiar with that place” he said and I raised my eyebrows.

“Familiar….” I trailed, as my mind registered the fact that he must know about the plans I used to have with Jax’s mom.

“Yes, I frequent visit the family house because …we used to plan something really bad in the past. Something to bring the pack down to nothing. I have the plans to tell you, it was not in my intentions for you to find out the way you just did” I said and he just stared at me calmly.

“It hurts to finally hear the whole truth from them, and I find out my woman knew” he said, and I bent down making our eyes meet each other from where he was sited.

“Do you know how hard it was to hear it?? and pretend like it didn’t hurt me when it actually did.” he said and I held his hand.

“Yes, yes I actually had plans to ruin you and make you pay for everything I felt you did to me in the past. Forming an ally was the best thing to do, considering the fact that Jax and his family held a strong grudge towards the pack …” I tried to explain and he raised his hand in hurt,

“I’m okay, you don’t have to explain yourself” he said, and I tried to move closer.

“I will be fine, just give me space” he said, and my eyes stung with unshed tears as I gave

a nod.

Chapter 86

Xavier walk towards the room as my heart squeezed in hurt, I bit my lower l*p as tears rolled out of my eyes.

“Crying would not solve anything Emerald, you should have know that by now” Nala said in my head and I sighed.

“He ust mad at me” I said calmly.

“He is mad at you because, he is supposed to be mad at you. I warned you about this whole game before it even began, Didn’t I??” Nala said in my head.

“Will you stop giving me this whole I told you vibes? it is seriously irritating!” I bursted angrily as I made my way out of the room.

I really need to speak to Jax, why did he even tell Xavier the truth in my absence?? I was pis sed off at the thought, I brought out my phone and called him.

“Luna” he said immediately he picked up the call.

“I want to see you at the pack house in 30 mins” I said and walked towards the garden area, I am too pis sed off to say anything else.

I kept pacing to and fro, waiting for Jax’s arrival and just when I began to get even more angry, I heard his voice.

“Luna” he said and I slapped him angrily.

“I’m sorry” he said calmly.

“How could you tell him that part of the truth like that!” I bursted out in anger

Jax bowed his head in respect the entire time, I kept on ranting angrily and when I finally stopped he raised his head.

“I’m sorry, we had no idea that you have not tell the Alpha about our connection. Mom said it out of the blue, and it was when he did not say anything that we realized you have not tell him the truth” Jax said and I knew he was being honest because Jax doesn’t lie.

“I wanted to tell him the truth but then, I figured there was no use of telling him all of that now that he is already going through a lot” I said as sadness watched over me

“How is he taking it ?” he asked calmly.

“Bad, Xavier doesn’t want to see my face. He told me to leave the room” I said and Jax

“It hurt like hell Jax, it hurts so bad because I thought we finally passed the stage where he will want to go through a painful stage alone” I said as tears rolled out of my eyes.

“The Alpha is just hurt, just give him time and then try talking to him again, he will come around” he said and I gave a nod.

“Thanks Jax, I am sorry about the way I reacted early. I was so furious” I said, as I apologising sincerely.

“It’s okay, I would have reacted the same way if I were you” he said and I smiled.

“You are a good friend Jax” I said and he smiled.

“You are a good woman too Emerald, we are lucky to have you” he said and that seem to help a bit.

“I guess you should get going. I will just go back inside and check on the Alpha” I said and he smiled.

“I hope to get a positive response in regards of the alpha” he said and I gave a nod as I watched him leave.

I walked back inside and went straight to our room, I was nervous and scared about the state I would meet my man in.

“Baby” I said and he look toward to my direction.

“Where were you Rachel?” he asked calmly, and I nearly sighed in relief seeing that he didn’t look as angry as he was the first time.

“I went out to have a word with Jax” I said giving an honest reply. What is the use of lying when that same lie has brought us to a state of hurt.

“To yell at him for telling me truth?” he asked calmly, and I could see the pains in his eyes, even though he tried to mask it up.

“Honestly, telling you the truth was not in my agenda, not when I know just how much it will break you” I said and he stared at me in disbelief.

“Don’t you think I have the right to make that decision, whether or not if I will let it break me !” he fired back angrily, as his voice shook at the edge.

“Others might not know you well, they might look at you and see the strong Alpha Xavier of the Red blood pack. But when I look at you, I see my Xavier, my man, and I know you well enough to know how you would take that piece of information” I said calmly hoping he get my point.

“And how is that going to change a thing!” he fired in equal pace.

“It won’t change anything because, you are reacting exactly how I thought you would react!” I said as tears rolled out of my eyes.

“I saw you break down when things hit the rock between you and Jayden, you haven’t fully recovered from it yet” I said and he stared at me calmly.

“We made a promise to each other, that there will be no more secrets between us” he said and I sighed softly as I rubbed my forehead.

“I’m so sorry I hurt you, I’m so sorry I break you again” I said as I cried, his eyes softened in my as he walked over to me and pulled me into his arm a hug.

“I’m sorry I reacted badly, I just couldn’t take that information well” he said.

“I understand, I would have reacted the same way if I was in your shoes” I said and he smiled.

“I don’t like seeing you cry Emerald” he said hugging me from behind.

“You were avoiding me, it is natural for the water works to show up everywhere” I said and he laughed.

“Those waters are precious and should not be shed unnecessarily, only if they are brought out due to joy or happiness” he said and we both chuckled.

“You are my joy” I said and he stared at me speechlessly.

“I like the sound of that” he said smiling.

“You like the sound of what?” I asked teasingly.

“Don’t mess with me” he said playfully and I laughed.

“You said the sound of something, how am I messing with you?” I asked and he chuckled.

“My Joy” he said, as k*ssed my forehead and I blushed red.

Lina stood up immediately she noticed Jax walking into the sitting room looking gloomy.

“Jax, is everything okay? You look disturbed” she said and his eyes moved over to where she stood up from, then back to the door.

“What says the time? it is late and you are not sleeping yet” he said with a frown on his face.

“I’m going to sleep soon, I just wanted to make sure everything was okay with you. You looked quiet disturbed when you left earlier” she said and Jax sighed.

“The Alpha got an information from us, the information he was supposed to get from his Luna. Things got a bit Rocky between them, and Emerald called me over to give me a piece of her mind for the cause of my carelessness in their relationship” he said and she sighed.

“They must have had it bad tonight” Lina said sympathizing with the couple.

“I’m sure they can handle themselves, we should go to bed now, because I believe we have a long day ahead of us tommorow” he said and she smiled softly.

“Jax” she called as he was about to leave the room.

“Lina” he said immediately and she turned.

“I…..I….it’s nothing” she stuttered, as she turned to leave.

“You know you can tell me whatever it is without hesitation right?” he asked and she smiled out tears.

“I know, seeing things bring pain and regret. I strongly believe you can overcome them if you put your mind to it” he said and she cried.

“It is hard, seeing everyone and everything reminds me daily of my past mistakes, and my inability to change back the hands of time” she said crying.

“I have told you a lot of time, you can’t change the hand of time, you can only learn to make up for your past mistakes and live a better life. Life is too short to live all your life in regrets” he said and she smiled.

“Thanks you Jax” she said and he gave a nod as he watched her leave for her room.

“Let it remain like that. The Alpha would not believe she is capable of doing anything wrong, until he encounters it himself. Maggie is a sharp player that should never ever be underestimated” she said and Jax sighed softly.

“She has the Alpha wrapped around her fingers” he bursted angrily.

“What else do you expect, when she practically raised him after his mother’s demise” she said and Jax eyes softened.

“How can she be so sweet, when she is basically the reason why you can’t use your legs.” Jax said in annoyance.

“Aunt Maggie is not someone whom she appears to be son” his mom said and Jax rubbed his forehead. –

It was already giving him a migraine, that he had no evidence to prove just how cruel she can be.
