I stared at Lina in shock as I try to process everything she was telling me.

“No…this is a lie, Jayden would never do something like that to me am certain of it…” I trail off, but deep down even the words felt strange to my ears.

“You are certain of it?” Lina throw my words right back at me, and I stared at her speechlessly.

“Jayden is not who you think he is, he is worse than you can ever imagine” Lina said as she chuckle bitterly.

“I gave him everything I have to offer Xavier, I was part of his game to bring you and the red blood pack down. So when I tell you the truth, you should be willing to believe me” she said and I stared at her as my blood boiled.

“How do you expect me to trust you after everything you just say? Jayden had my back for as long as I can remember Lina” I said as my head banged with headache.

“You can connect the dots yourself and come out with the right answers. After all, you are the Alpha” she said and I watched her eyes stung with tears.

“It is okay if you don’t trust the words I say due to my inability to provide concrete evidence Alpha Xavier. But I figured I should let you know even if it costs me my life. That’s the least I can do” she said and I give a nod as different thoughts filled my mind.

“Thanks Lina” I said and she økve a nod as she

opened the door and leave the car.

I drove back to the pack house and the soldiers greeted me as they walked towards the fields.

“Alpha Xavier Jax said as he walked over to me.

“I want you to keep an eye on Emerald and the boys” I said and he watched me calmly.

“Is everything alright Alpha?” he asked curiously.

“Everything Is alright, I just need to clear my head” I said and made my way towards my study room.

As I sat down, different thoughts graced my mind again and I began to think of the times I found out Jayden was hiding things from me.

The times he told me he would only reveal his woman when the time was right, he just couldn’t tell me who he was seeing because the woman was Lina.

How can my friend whom I consider as a brother stab me in the back in such a cruel way?

“Calm down” Rolfe said and I tried to stop myself, I tried to remind myself that I am the Alpha and should remain strong for the people. But then, tears streeam down my eyes and I cried bitterly.

Not just for my trust and heart which was broken, but I cried for my pack and the future which seems dark at this point.

I didn’t say a word to anyone as I stood up, I made my way to the pack doctors house.

“Welcome Alpha Xavier” he said as he led me into his apartment.

“To what do I owe this pleasant surprise” he asked cluelessly and I walked over to his couch as I sit down.

“Alpha..” he trailed.

“We need to talk about something very important” I said and he give a nod while trying to figure out what I wanted to tell him.

“You have worked for this pack for years and the royal family trusted you and am giving you that honour” I said and he bowed

“I am forever grateful for the love you show me Alpha Xavier” he said and I gave a nod.

“Why did you lie to me Doc?” I asked and he stared at me in shock.

T ……..don’t understand what you are saying Alpha” he said and I chuckled bitterly.

“You don’t understand? When the pack members kept dying, what did you tell me was the cause of the deaths?” I asked and he opened and closed his mouth as he figured out. I might have gotten some information that sold him out.

“Alpha, I plead that you give me a chance to explain myself” he said and I just stared at him calmly.

“Go ahead and explain yourself then” I said and he took a deep breath in and out.

“For years I have live with the fear of being killed. There are a lots of secrets surrounding the pack, some of which I have limited information to. But I do know of the fact that the pack members were not doing ordinarily. They want to make sure the elders of the pack dim you incompetent for the position then force you to step down” he said and I just stared at him calmly.

“I found out Jayden was responsible for the death of the pack members the day he came to my office and threatened me not to reveal anything to you” he said and I

listened with rapt attention.

“I helped Lina abort three pregnancies for Jayden, and yes Carlos was not stabbed he was poisoned. I found out the night they brought him in, the test results showed posion in his system” he said with fear in his tone.

“And who did you inform about this?” I asked calmly.

“It was not easy to say the things I have observed Alpha Xavier. Right in front of me, the Luna was accused of murder and sent packing from the pack. Which person in their right senses would want to make themselves the center of attraction right after that?” he asked sadly.

“I did not have evidence to back up my claims, I had a family to worry about, my hands were tied and I was helpless” Doc said and I just watched him, not knowing what to say at that point.

“Jayden” I muttered under my breath as I fold his fist in

anger.

Tension filled the air as the pack doctor bowed his head while crying. There were many layers of the truth and I didn’t want to keep things the way they were.

“Jayden hasto pay for what he put me through” I said with bloodshot eyes.

I matched into Lina’s Penthouse in anger and that’s when I noticed her folding her clothes neatly into a box.

“What are you doing?” I asked and she turned to me…

“Rachel or Emerald,what should I even call you” she said as she fold her hands against her chest.

“I don’t care, call me what ever you want to call me but…” I trailed.

“You know for few months, I kept wondering what grudges you held against me that made you ruin my career. How stu pid I was to not have joined the dots together” she said as she chuckle bitterly.

“This is not about me being Rachel or Emerald, what did you tell the Alpha?” I asked as my heart beating crazily against my chest.

“The truth he deserves to know, am tried of this game Rachel” she said and I stared at her like she had lost it.

“The truth? Do you know what you have done Lina!” I bursted angrily.

“He deserves to know Rachel, you might act all high and mighty, you might think you are the victim here but all of us have been played in this game. For all we know, there might be another master minder some where waiting to attack!” she bursted angrily.

“What makes you think you are so innocent Rachel? Or Emerald whatever identity you. go by… she trailed in disgust.

“Everyone of us are gamers, you left the pack as a rejected Luna and came back for revenge. Slept with Xavier knowing fully well he was married to me, separated him from his son and burned down his company while staying by his side as a comforter” she bursted and her words hit me.

“What makes you think you are the victim?” she asked then chuckled.

“This fight doesn’t stop here Rachel, as long as the red blood pack is concerned, people will always come after the pack for it’s benefit, she said and I rubbed my face.

“I…..don’t want to be a part of this madness anymore” I said and she chuckled.

“You have the Alpha’s heir, leaving the pack is not advisable. That is if you want to keep them safe and alive. The attempt on their lives was to actually end it” she said and I just stared at her speechlesly.

“Who killed Carlos?” I asked out of the blue.

“Why do you want to know?” Lina asked and I scoff in annoyance.

“You are asking me why I want to know? For years I was accused, rejected and sent away for a crime I know nothing about and you think I don’t deserve to know?” I asked angrily.

“I also don’t know how he was murdered Rachel” Lina said and I stared at her like she

had lost it.

“What do you mean by you don’t know how he was murdered. You accused me of committing the crime that I knew nothing about!”I shouted angrily.

“Don’t feed me that bulls hit, you also have no idea who killed Carlos??” I asked and she shook her head.

“Jayden told me to accuse you, and I followed his orders” she said and I just stared at her.

“That means Jayden did it ?” I asked in shock.

“That is a question that should be directed at Jayden, sincerely I have no idea” she said

“Why should I even trust you?” I asked in anger.

“You should trust me because am risking my life doing all of this, I don’t even care what In store for me after all of this. I just want to mend my wrongs Emerald” she said as her voice broke at the edge.

“Stay safe” she said as tears rolled out of her eyes, I sniffed back the tears that threatened to roll down my eyes as I moved over to her and pulled her in a hug.
