“You are so possessive” I teased him and he laughed.

“Mr Jason” someone said and he still had his hand on my back.

“Good to see you tonight Mr Vasquez” he said to the man as they talked.

“I sent a business email to your personal assistant am hoping we could do business soon” the short man said and he smiled politely.

Immediately the man left someone else called my name.

“Miss Anderson” he said and we shook hands, as he started praise my latest business idea. It is not a new thing on how much impact I have made on my father’s company ever since I took over as CEO.

“I guess we would be receiving greetings like this the entire night” he said and I chuckled.

“There is one way to

avoid them though I said and his eyes widened.

“Really?? How??” he asked and I laughed.

“Avoid eye contact. If you are always in a conversation with someone else how would they get the opportunity to talk to you” I said and he smiled.

“See why I said we make a good team flower” he said teasingly.

“I’m glad you think so” I said and we both focused on what was going on.

“Mr Jason” someone called again and he gave me an apologetic look before walking off with the guy.

“You guys seem so cozy with each other. At first, I thought you are still so much in love with him” someone said from behind and I did not need a soot sayer to tell me it was Gabriel.

“Fernandez” I said as I turned towards him.

“I didn’t know you will attend the event, like am not expecting your presence” I said he smirked.

“Good to see you then” he said and took a sip from his glass of wine.

“Is your head still in the game or I should be worried” he asked with one of his hands.

“We have a plan, awhich can not come into action if you keep pestering me like this !” I said and he stared at me for a minute.

“You think am pestering you??” he asked and I could detect the hurt in his voice.

“I did not mean for it to come out that way Gabriel, you were pestering me” I said and he sighed softly.

“I’m sorry” I said and

someone sneaked his/her hand around my waist.

“What is going on here ?” Xavier asked and I could feel his Alpha aura in the entire

space.

“I rubbed his arms softly and that seem to ease him a little, the last thing we want is this man shifting to his wolf form in a room filled with humans and werewolves.

“Good evening Mr Jason, it been a long time” Gabriel said with a tone that said he was not really interested in seeing Xavier’s face.

“You are the last person I want to see around my woman Gabriel” he said and Gabriel smirked.

“I thought you were married before or you want to ruin her like you’ve done to all your other women” he muttered softly but before I knew it Xavier threw a punch directly at his face.

I gasped in shock as Gab placed his hand on his face and drops of blood stained his hand from his nose.

“Why is the truth suddenly too much to comprehend Xavier? Does it hurt !” Gabriel asked again riling him up on purpose.

“Gabriel that is enough!” I screamed and people began to murmur under their breath.

“Stay away from her Fernandez, you don’t want to see my bad side” Xavier said and before I knew it Gabriel threw a punch at him and they got into a serious fight that ended with Jayden running across the room with some other guys to stop them from hitting each.

This is definitely going to be on the media first thing tommorow morning, how embarrassing.

“He have no rights or whatsever to act all sarcastic not after what he did to me!” Xavier bursted angrily and that got me curious.

“We were only talking business I do not appreciate you getting into a fight with someone because of me. I am not a commodity” I said immediately we got into the car.

He ended up asking Jayden to stand in for him at the event, and I couldn’t stay not after the drama that happened.

“I just lost it when he said those words to me Rachel, I don’t want to loose you” he said holding my hands in his large ones.

I stared at him speechlessly, exactly the words he said before hurting me five years ago. One thing am not sure of is if he has repented..

“You should go to the hospital and get yourself treated” I said even if I knew his wounds. had dried up almost instantly, I just played along.

“I don’t need to go to the hospital am fine” he said and I nodded my head.

“Where are we going” I asked when I noticed he was driving towards another direction.

“How about we spend the night at my house at the beach?” he asked and I sighed immediately I remembered exactly what had happened the last time we spent time alone.

“Please…” he trailed and I smiled.

“Fine, as long as you make my stay there worth it. I haven’t had dinner yet just so you know” I said and he laughed.

“I better order us some food then because, I don’t what what happened the last time. when I tryed to cook for us the other day should repeat itself again” he said and I burst. out laughing.

“You better do, I am exhausted and can’t cook” I said as I felt a ping on my phone.

“Will you be coming home tonight?” Penny messaged me.

“Nope” I texted back and she sent me teasing Emojis.

“My mind will remain in this interesting gutters bestie” she sent and I sighed.

“Good night” I sent and chuckled softly as I imagined the look on her face.

My mind went back to Gabriel Fernandez and I felt a little bit bad about what happened today. I’ll just check up on him later, he acted out on impulse which was totally wrong and could have messed up a lot of things for us.

“What is on your mind?” Xavier asked as he pulled up in front of his house.

“A lot” I said and he sighed.

“I apologise for the embarrassment once again” he said and I smiled.

“You are short tempered, work on it.” I said and he nodded his head obediently like ami scolding a little child.

Walking into his house, I smiled at the luxirous exterior of the place.

“Welcome sir” the guard at the door greeted leading us in.

Xavier had his arm around me protectively the entire time. We got into the house and I sat on the chair then removed my heels, the door bell rang after sometime and he walked over to the door to get our order.

“Food is ready Rachel” he said as he made his way to the dinning table, I couldn’t help. but admire his sweetness.

did and went into the room. When he came out, I noticed that he had wiped the blood stains on his face.

“So what are we having?” I asked excitedly while rubbing my hands.

“This looks delicious” I said staring at the Italian dishes in front of us.

We spent time talking about random stuffs and laughing our hearts out, I did not get to meet this version of Xavier as Emerald and now I get to meet him as Rachel. It’s just so crazy.

After dinner we walked back to the sitting room together and that is when I saw a piano stand.

“You play” I said and he looked over to the piano as I run my fingers on the keys.

“Huh….I haven’t played that in years, it belonged to someone close to me” he said and I sighed.

He looked so handsome sitting there, playing the beautiful notes.

“That was beautiful” I said smiling and our eyes met for a few second he stood up and before I knew it his mouth crashed on mine as he k*ssed me fast and hot, our l*ps fighting for dominance.

My heart beat crazily against my chest as different thoughts filled my head, this is wrong in every way. I am supposed to be playing a game not doing this, but then why did my b*dy crave this man more than anything else in the world..
