“Thanks for yesterday” I said to Xavier as he packed outside my father’s house.

“I should be the one saying thanks Rachel, thank you for honouring my invitation l’ he said and I smiled.

One thing I noticed about Xavier last night was the fact that he didn’t touch me, the guy acted like a perfect gentle man.

“Are you still coming over to see Derrick later today?” he asked and I smiled.

“Yeah, I will be coming over to see Derrick you can text me the address later” I said and he gave a nod.

“Have a great morning” he said and I pecked his cheeks as I watch him enter his car and. drive away.

“The way you look at him makes me wanna swoon” Penny said teasingly as and I turned.

“You should be in your room sleeping not looking for who to tease” I said and she laughed.

“Trust me babe, if I did not know your history with Xavier I will think the both of you are so inlove with each other” she said and I raised my eyebrows.

“I’m serious babe, the chemistry is too visible to ignore” she said and I chuckled as I

walked in front.

“So how was your night?” she asked and I sighed softly.

“It was a lot, I even got to find out about Lina physically abusing Derrick, the nerve of that useless woman !” I bursted angrily.

“What! I can’t believe this, what is Xavier doing about it?” she asked curiously.

“He seems pretty serious about everything things with her but I don’t think that is possible yet considering the fact that she is the Luna of the pack and has the support of the pack Elders, it would take a lot to remove her from his life” I said and Penny sighed.

“That is a lot to take in” she said as her eyes softened in my direction.

“I just wanna see my son Penny, even if I’m not allowed to give him motherly love at least I can talk to him as someone that cares about him” I said and she pulled me into her arms in a tig hug.

I walked him to the door and watched his driver take him to school. Walking back to my room, I freshened up and decided to have some rest.

My phone rang and I stared at the caller ID and it was Gabriel.

“Gab” I said and he sighed.

“Rachel..” he trailed and I smiled.

“I thought we were supposed to meet when you arrived in town?” he asked and I opened and closed my mouth like a fish.

“Yeah, I was kinda busy Gab” I said and he fell silent at the other end from the other end.

“Let’s meet today then” he said and I raked my brain on what to tell him, I can’t tell him. I am going over to Xavier’s pack to meet with my son Derrick instead of keeping up to my promise to meet him.

“Gab…I have other engagements today, but don’t worry we can meet tommorow” I said and he chuckled.

“I know when you are lying Rachel, we are both Adults and it is okay if you have engagements you don’t have to think about how I’ll feel” he said and I smiled.

“Thanks for understanding Gab, I will make it up to you” I said and he chuckled.

Walking towards my wardrobe I brought out the dress I will be wearing to his pack. When I walked out of my closet. I met Dad seated on my bed and going through his phone.

“Rachel” he said and I opened and closed my mouth like a fish.

“Father” I said in shock.

“Where were you last night?” he asked and I swallowed down nothing.

“I was at home” I said and he stared at me calmly.

“I went out to attend to something important” I said and he chuckled bitterly.

I changed into my dress and shoes before pulling my hair into a pony.

“Rachel Is coming over to see Derrick today Jayden, I don’t want her having an hint that we aren’t human” I said to my Beta who stared at me in shock from the opposite end.

“She is coming here? What happened to Derrick?” he asked and I sighed.

“What is wrong with you these days? you ask stu pid questions at the slightest opportunity” I said and he sighed.

“I’m sorry Alpha, I was just suprise that a human is coming over to the pack house. I will spread the word around to make sure everyone keeps our true identity a secret” he said. and I watched him walk out of my chambers.

“Come in” I said and the person at the door walked in.

“Alpha Xavier” she said and I turned in shock.

“Aunt Maggie, you are back when did you arrive” I asked as I walked over to her and pulled her into my arms.

“Last night Xavier, I asked about your whereabouts and Derrick’s nanny told me you left the house” she said and I gave a nod.

“I had something important to attend to” I said as I sat down on the chair in front of me aunt sat at the opposite one.

“Walking in on her abusing my son broke my heart aunt, I might not have loved her as much as I did with Emerald, but I gave her everything she ever wanted aunt. I invested in her Career, what did I not do for her that she thinks physically abusing my son is the prefect thing” I bursted angrily.

Talking about it was bringing back the painful memories from that night.

“So what are you going to do now? Call of the wedding” Aunt asked in concern.

“I don’t think I want to remain married to a woman who enjoyed hurting my son, a woman who knows I don’t know what her true intentions are ?” I said and her eyes. softened in my

“I feel really st upid for seeing her in good light, Lina always acted like she and Derrick had a good relationship. How blind of me not to have seen the fear on my baby’s eyes” Aunt said as tears rolled out of her eyes.

“It’s okay aunt, it is not your fault she was my wife too and I had no idea what she was capable of, don’t beat yourself so much about it” I said and she gave a nod.

“I will just go and check up on Derrick” Aunt Maggie said as she stood up from the chair.

“Don’t think too much about it Aunt” I said and she gave a nod as she walked out of my

room.

I stared at my phone curiously wondering what was up with Rachel, I sent the address. and she had not called back to tell me what was up with her. Dailing her number I placed the phone on my ear as it rang without reply, just before I thought she wouldn’t pick up she picked up.

“Hey” she said and I smiled.

“I have been expecting your presence since morning Rachel” I said and she chuckled.

“I’m sorry, I am on my way though” she said and I smiled.

“I will be expecting you then” I said and heard her soft laughter.
