“Damien and I will come over to the pack and have fun’ Derrick said as he clapped excitedly.

“You can’t bring Damien to the pack champ” I said while fl*pping through some files.

“Why Daddy?” he asked curiously.

“Because Damien is a human and we are werewolves I said and he stayed quiet for

sometime.

“That doesn’t make him a bad guy he helps me out anytime the kids from my class. bully me” Derrick said and I turned to him Immediately.

“Kids bully you in school? why am I just hearing this I asked and he frowned.

“I didn’t want you to get into trouble” I said and I raised my eyebrows.

“What makes you think I will get into trouble ? I asked amused by his words.

“You always shift anytime you are mad at someone, what if you end up shifting in front of the humans in my school? shouldn’t werewolves be kept secret from the human realm” he asked and I chuckled.

“Derrick you are way too smart for your age” I said and he smiled.

“You haven’t answered my questions Daddy” Derrick said and I rubbed my forehead,

“Werewolves should be kept secret because not everyone knows we are not bad, some people think we are monsters due to the bad wolves who have done wrong to humans in the past” I explained calmly.

“That is so sad” he said and I smiled.

“You have a very big heart Derrick” I said and he smiled.

“I guess I got it from you Dad” he said and I smiled. Emerald have a big heart at least that is what I thought before she showed her through color, sometimes I feel like I never truly know the real emerald.

“I’m sure Damien can keep our secret” he said calmly.

“Don’t be disobedient son” I said and pat him on the back as I focused on work.

Leaving the room, I walked towards the pack clinic to get some information about

“Alpha” the pack doctor said as he stood up to greet me.

“Is everything okay? to what do I owe your royal presence” he asked bowing in respect.

“I want to know if you have gotten any information regarding the cause of deaths in the pack, you promised to gather more information about it?” I asked and he looked supirsed.

“I gave Beta Jayden the information I found about the deaths” he said and I frowned.

“When ?” I asked as different thoughts ran through my mind, if he gave Jayden the information why didn’t he report to me immediately.

“Two days ago Alpha” he said and I gave a nod as I sat down calmly.

“Tell me what you found ?” I asked and he went ahead to explain everything he found. from his research.

“Whatever has been killing people in the pack is not one of us but a different breed” he said and I frowned.

“Don’t you think it is the humans?” I asked and he shook his head.

“A werewolf is stronger than a human it won’t be easy for a human to end the life of a werewolf in that manner. Whoever is involved in this has got it all planned out to finish us, you need to be very careful Alpha Xavier” he said and bowed.

“Thanks for your advice doctor” I said and made my way out of the room.

“Alpha” Jayden said walking towards me.

“We need to talk” I said as we made our way towards my office..

“Is everything okay?” he asked worriedly.

“The pack doctor gave you a report of what he thinks is killing people in the pack, why didn’t you report to me?” I asked and he looked shocked to the core.

“I…..” he trailed off contemplating on the right words to say to me.

“I am waiting Jayden” I said and he took a deep breath in and out.

“I apologise for not reporting to you Alpha, something came up and I had to attend to it” he said bowing.

“For two days? that is unlike you jayden, I was beginning to think you had other things.

“I will never do anything that will pose as a threat to the pack and it’s inhabitants, I was only attending to personal matters relating to me I know it sounds selfish but I hope you understand” he said and I sighed softly.

“Of cause I understand, am the one who keeps advising you to take some time off to attend to personal matters but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t report to me” I said and he gave a nod in agreement.

“I will make sure everything gets to you on time just as it always has” he said and bowed.

“Baby we need to talk” Lina said as she catwalked into my room dramatically her eyes moved over to jayden and she looked away.

“Good evening Lina” Jayden said and she ignored him.

“I beg to take my leave Alpha Xavier” he said and I gestured for him to leave.

“What was that?” I asked Lina immediately Jayden left the room.

“What?” she asked walking towards the bed.

“Jayden greeted you just now the least you could have done was be cordial with him” I said and she frowned.

“You know Jayden and I do not really get along I can’t just start liking him overnight” she said Immediately.

“It’s been five years !” I bursted angrily.

“That doesn’t change the fact that he was a fan of Emerald, Immediately the news came out that you found your mate he pledged his loyalty to her as his Luna well the was before the news came out that she has always been a killer and a deciever” Lina said with nothing but hate.

“It’s been five years Lina, five good years since things fell out between Emerald and I, I have also made you luna of this pack that should make up for everything that happened in the past” I said and she scoffed in annoyance.

“Well it hasn’t, it will never make up for what happened in the past because you don’t belong to me” she bursted as tears rolled out of her eyes.

“And what is that supposed to mean?” I asked with arms folded.

“I might bare the tittle of your wife, but that doesn’t mean you consider me your wife Xavier” she said and I rubbed my forehead calmly.

“I don’t have the strength to put up with your insecurities tonight, please leave my room” I said and she stared at me in disbelief.

“You are sending me out of your room, Xavier !” she said and I rubbed my forehead.

“Leave before I call the security on you” I said and she matched out of my room in

anger.

?EMERALD POV?

“That is really sad I had no idea that he went through all of that” Penny said getting on my bed.

“Me too, when we had that conversation it made me realize that Gabriel isn’t a bad person he is just a victim of circumstances” I said and she sighed.

“Maybe Xavier is also a victim of circumstance, have you given that a thought?” Penny asked and I chuckled softly.

“Penny you of all people should know what Xavier did to me. What circumstance would. prompt a response like that? Xavier treated me like an animal, a person without rights to live, he took my son away from me…..” I trailed as my l*ps quivered in hurt.

“Do you know how much pain I feel each time I see Derrick and Damien together?” I asked as I cried bitterly.

“My sons think they are friends they have no idea that they are twins all because their heartless father, thou I liked Carlos” I said and Penny shook her head in pity.

“Don’t cry babe, I’m sorry” she said holding my hand calmly.

“Each time I hear the pain Xavier’s pack has caused many people including myself, my blood boils with rage” I said as I folded my hands against my chest.

“He will pay for it Penny, each and everyone of them will pay for what they put us through” I said and and she walked into my arms pulling me into a tight hug.

After Penny left my room I lay on the bed and tried to get some sleep as memories of the time I spent with Xavier came rushing.

“I don’t like the way men look at you” he said k*ssing my forehead and I smiled.

“Why?” I asked teasingly.

“Because it makes me jealous, you are my mate and no one is permitted to drool over you” he said pulling me in his arms protectively.

“I’ve never met a man so jealous in my life” I said and he laughed.

“You are so beautiful Emerald and you make me so happy without even trying hard, you have filled my life with light ever since you came into my life” he said and I smiled emotionally.

“I thank you moon goddess for bringing you into my life too, Xavier” I said and he held. my hand and placed it on his chest.

my eyes followed his hand curiously then back to his face.

“Do you feel it?” he asked playfully.

“Feel what?” I asked bitting my lower l*p.

“The sound of my heart beats?” he asked and I chuckled out tears.

“Yeah I said and he bent towards me..

“Can I k*ss you my heart ?” he asked and I blushed red as his soft l*ps met mine in a k*ss,

I sent my hand around his n*eck trying to stop myself from falling.

Xavier was a good k*sser, immediately his l*ps met mine It felt like a thousand butterflies burst in my belly.

He broke the k*ss and placed his forehead on mine as we stared into each other’s eyes as I blushed a darker shade of red.

“You are blushing” he said teasingly making me hide my face on his chest.

“Cute” he muttered under his breath and I laughed.

Tears rolled out of my eyes as I came back to reality.

“I XAVIER JASON….” The words from the night he rejected me came to my mind and I burst out crying.

I hugged myself close as my heart squeezed in hurt, I gave him everything I ever had my heart, my mind, my b*dy… everything yet he didn’t think twice before breaking my heart into a million pieces.

The thought of hurting Derick came to mind and I felt guilty he has learned to love at man aa terrible as Xaiver, a man who took him away from his own mother and sent her away from the pack never to return again.

But then he was just a child and none of that matters to him all he wants is to be happy.
