Chapter 961:
Aware of Kamilaâs desire for anonymity and her need for a skilled ally to handle Eileen, Gianna chose her words carefully.
As expected, Kamila was moved by her words.
Gianna said, âWe can handle securing the funds on our own, but Eileen is threatening to sue us. Can I ask a favor of you?â
After playing for a whole day, Eileen and Gabriela were tired. On the way back, they drifted off to sleep. Gabriela was perched on the childâs seat, her tiny head tilted to one side, gently resting against Bryanâs shoulder.
Eileen was lying on Bryanâs chest, disregarding her image, her shirt rolled up, exposing her slim waist.
With one hand, Bryan gently tugged on her shirt, while his other hand cradled Gabrielaâs head, offering support. As he drove, Raymond couldnât help but let out a sigh as he caught a glimpse of Bryanâs tender moments with his family in the rearview mirror.
Just then, the abrupt ringing of his mobile phone startled him. He swiftly disconnected the Bluetooth and picked up the call, saying, âHello⦠Wait, what? The court session is postponed?â
Raymond was so surprised that he raised his voice. Bryanâs eyes snapped up, and Raymond immediately lowered his voice to a whisper. âWhy⦠Okay, I see.â
After hanging up the phone, Raymond turned to Bryan. âMr. Dawson, I have some news about Conroy. He has been hospitalized after suffering an attack and has provided a doctorâs note. Heâs been advised to avoid any stress or stimulation for the time being.â
Conroyâs condition was so fragile that any stimulation could be detrimental. If he were to attend the court hearing, the intense arguments and loud quarreling would likely prove fatal.
Your imagination thrives at puntocom âFind out which hospital he is in,â Bryan said.
âYes, sir,â Raymond answered, stepping on the gas.
When Eileen woke up, she found herself no longer in the car, and to her surprise, it was already after nine the following morning. Besides horseback riding, they had offered various other recreational activities. Gabriela had been thrilled, running around with abandon, while Eileen had grown exhausted from constantly chasing after her.
But Eileen hadnât expected to sleep through the night!
She sprang to her feet and dashed out the door without shoes, exclaiming, âDamn it! We canât be late for court!â
Just as Eileen reached the door, Bryan entered and swiftly swept her into his arms. His strong grasp encircled her slim waist, and his hands supported her thighs to prevent her from falling.
âWhy arenât you wearing your shoes?â Bryan asked.
âWeâll be late for the trial now!â Eileen snapped anxiously. âWhy didnât you wake me?â
Bryan gently laid her back on the bed, her dark locks splayed out around her. When he remained silent, she scowled and delivered a swift kick to his chest. Eileen didnât use much strength, but Bryan still winced. He grasped her ankle and said, âThe trial has been called off.â
âWhy?â Eileen asked in shock, her eyes widening.
