Chapter 952:
She was still working when the ward door suddenly swung open.
Eileen entered the room, carrying a box filled with tonics.
Dalores closed her laptop, stood up, and said, âEmersonâs been in the sterile ward lately. He wonât be able to eat these.â
âI got these for you,â Eileen said, handing over the tonics. Noticing Daloresâ pale complexion, she added, âYour health is important. If youâre worn out, no one else can step in and care for Emerson like you do.â
Suddenly, Dalores was overwhelmed with emotions. As she glanced down at the tonics, tears filled her eyes. Eileen set the box down and noticed that Dalores had been working. âI remember Kinsey mentioning giving you two hundred thousand,â she said.
âYou donât need to push yourself so hard. I can hold onto your position at the education agency now. Take your time and return when things settle down.â
Despite Dalores having a decent salary, the costs for Emersonâs treatment and the upcoming transplant were a lot. It was impossible for her to earn enough to cover all these expenses.
So, Eileen had decided to step in with some financial help. Without it, no matter how hard Dalores worked, she wouldnât be able to manage the expenses and might even end up sick from working too hard.
It was more practical for Dalores to stay healthy and repay the money later.
Dalores furrowed her brow and said, âI donât want to accept the two hundred thousand, so I havenât touched it yet.â
Every chapter lives on g a lno vels ; comm Kinsey had been generous, spending a significant amount on Emerson throughout their marriage. The two hundred thousand had actually come from Sariya, who felt sympathy for her. Kinsey didnât have the money.
Even though Dalores was in desperate need of money, she felt uncomfortable using this money.
âHereâs a card you can use. You can repay me once Emerson is better,â Eileen said, handing over a secondary card. This card was linked to the profits from the education agency, which was regularly deposited into her account.
Despite her refusals, Dalores continued to decline the offer.
Eileen smiled and said, âPlease accept this.â
âYouâre turning down the money I offered and the money from Kinsey. How will you cover Emersonâs treatment and future costs? Do you really think you can make that much money in such a short time?â
âThis money comes from Bailee,â Eileen said, pressing the card into Daloresâ hand. âItâs for her to handle the education agency by herself. You can let her know how much youâll repay later, and youâll be able to repay it soon enough.â
She believed Dalores was using the money to hire a highly competent assistant for Bailee. Bailee was exceptionally intelligent and had graduated from a prestigious university. Eileen trusted her completely and knew that with her help, Baileeâs work would become much more manageable moving forward.
âI know saying âthank youâ doesnât quite cover it, but I have to express how grateful I am. If I hadnât met you, I canât even begin to imagine what kind of life Iâd be living now,â Dalores said, her voice heavy as she leaned against the wall in exhaustion.
Eileen encouraged Dalores to stay positive and take care of herself. After that, she turned and made her way out.
