“He may appear easygoing, but don’t be fooled. He’s not someone to handle lightly. I’ll take care of the talking later.” Bryan gently took Eileen’s wrist and led her to a nearby seat. Once the wedding ceremony concluded, the guests began taking their seats and awaiting the start of the meal.

Bryan rose from his seat and made his way directly to the table where Seth was seated, Eileen accompanying him.

Bryan clapped a young man on the shoulder. When the man turned around, his expression shifted dramatically. He quickly rose to his feet, saying, “Mr. Dawson! It’s been ages! I never thought I’d run into you here!”

“It’s been a while. I actually have some business to discuss with Mr. Byrd today, and I’m attending the wedding as well.” A cold smile appeared on Bryan’s face. The young man felt a shiver run down his spine. He instinctively grasped the underlying message and replied, “You can sit here. I need to catch up with someone over there now. We can grab a drink later.”

The young man quickly signaled his female companion, and the two left.

Bryan’s conversation with the man wasn’t hushed, and it was clear to almost everyone at the table that Bryan was there for Seth. The incident at the VQ Group gate earlier that morning hadn’t spread yet, so no one knew the reason behind Bryan’s intent to see Seth. But his cold demeanor suggested it was probably something serious.

Some guests, eager to avoid any potential conflict, seized the opportunity to slip away with excuses.

The table, once filled with guests, was now nearly empty, with only a few people remaining. Apart from Eileen and Bryan, most of the remaining guests had close ties to the Byrd family.

“No!” In his haste to stand up, Seth accidentally knocked the table, sending several wine glasses crashing together. He felt embarrassed and irritated by how intimidated he was by Bryan.

Realizing that Bryan was determined to address the issue, Seth resorted to the plan he had prepared in advance.

He said, “Mr. Dawson, I owe a debt to the Aston family, and Conroy appealed to us for help using that. My family isn’t as strong as the Aston family, so I couldn’t afford to refuse Conroy. I plead for your understanding.”
