Chapter 941:
âHe may appear easygoing, but donât be fooled. Heâs not someone to handle lightly. Iâll take care of the talking later.â Bryan gently took Eileenâs wrist and led her to a nearby seat. Once the wedding ceremony concluded, the guests began taking their seats and awaiting the start of the meal.
Bryan rose from his seat and made his way directly to the table where Seth was seated, Eileen accompanying him.
Bryan clapped a young man on the shoulder. When the man turned around, his expression shifted dramatically. He quickly rose to his feet, saying, âMr. Dawson! Itâs been ages! I never thought Iâd run into you here!â
âItâs been a while. I actually have some business to discuss with Mr. Byrd today, and Iâm attending the wedding as well.â A cold smile appeared on Bryanâs face. The young man felt a shiver run down his spine. He instinctively grasped the underlying message and replied, âYou can sit here. I need to catch up with someone over there now. We can grab a drink later.â
The young man quickly signaled his female companion, and the two left.
Bryanâs conversation with the man wasnât hushed, and it was clear to almost everyone at the table that Bryan was there for Seth. The incident at the VQ Group gate earlier that morning hadnât spread yet, so no one knew the reason behind Bryanâs intent to see Seth. But his cold demeanor suggested it was probably something serious.
Some guests, eager to avoid any potential conflict, seized the opportunity to slip away with excuses.
The table, once filled with guests, was now nearly empty, with only a few people remaining. Apart from Eileen and Bryan, most of the remaining guests had close ties to the Byrd family.

Bryan replied candidly, âIâd like to understand the protocols and regulations governing the Byrd familyâs construction site.â
As he spoke in a relaxed manner, he adjusted the suit jacket on Eileen, ensuring her shoulders were covered.
With a growing sense of unease, Seth smiled awkwardly and said, âMr. Dawson, Iâm not the best person to ask about that. You should really speak with the person in charge of the construction site.â
âReally?â Bryanâs eyebrows shot up as he asked, âAre you suggesting that Iâm not worthy of a direct conversation with you?â
âNo!â In his haste to stand up, Seth accidentally knocked the table, sending several wine glasses crashing together. He felt embarrassed and irritated by how intimidated he was by Bryan.
Realizing that Bryan was determined to address the issue, Seth resorted to the plan he had prepared in advance.
He said, âMr. Dawson, I owe a debt to the Aston family, and Conroy appealed to us for help using that. My family isnât as strong as the Aston family, so I couldnât afford to refuse Conroy. I plead for your understanding.â
âAston family?â Eileen asked. Seth nodded.
