Chapter 933:
âDonât mention it,â Eileen replied.
âJust leave me be and donât drag me into your drunken escapades again. Iâm married, you know. If the paparazzi catch wind of this, itâll be a whole mess to clean up.â
Julioâs expression was dark, and Eileen couldnât help but ask, âWhatâs the deal with you and Dolores anyway? You chased her here asking for your kid. Now, you know the kidâs gone, but youâre still clinging to her, asking her to have another oneâwhy?â
Julio was still lost in the fog of his hangover, rubbing the spot between his eyebrows as if trying to clear his confusion. He muttered vaguely, âShe had an abortion. Isnât it only fair for her to give me another child?â
âFine. But I havenât settled your hotel bill. Do you have any money?â Eileen asked. She wanted to help, but she was worried that heâd call her again if he didnât have the funds.
âYes.â Julio sat up abruptly. âWait, did she complain to you again? I didnât force her to sign the agreement. She sought me out.â
Eileen stopped mid-sentence. âI donât care who initiated it. I just want to know why you agreed to this arrangement.â She didnât believe what he had just said. If not for Emersonâs accident, Dolores would never have proposed such an outrageous agreement. Julioâs eager acceptance was more baffling.
âItâs not illegal,â Julio shrugged. âWeâre both divorced.â
Eileen rolled her eyes. âWhy am I even discussing this with you?â She snatched his bag from the table and strode out.
Alone, Julio rubbed his forehead, his mind drifting back to the night Dolores had appeared on his doorstep.
Your next chapter awaits gⱯlnÏνðlsâ¤cøm It had been late. He had just pulled into his driveway after a business dinner when he noticed a figure standing at his door. Dolores, soaked through by the rain, had clearly been standing there for ages. Her dark overcoat masked the shivers wracking her body. It wasnât until she stepped inside that he realized how drenched she was, her clothes sticking to her closely, revealing her perfect figure.
She had been trembling from the cold, and after he handed her a towel, she dried her hair absentmindedly before cutting straight to the chase. âJulio, Iâve divorced Kinsey.â
âAnd?â he had paused, then finally sat down on the sofa, crossing his legs as he looked at her casually.
âIâm leaving Alverton, and Iâm here to say goodbye to you.â
Julioâs brows had knitted together in confusion. âWhat? Are you off to find another wealthy man to marry again?â
âThis has nothing to do with you,â Dolores snapped.
âItâs because of you that I got divorced. I need you to stay away from me from now on. We never meet each other again.â Her eyes were stormy, full of emotions he couldnât decipher.
Blinded by rage, he had missed the real message behind her words. He grabbed her collar, yanking her close. âIf youâd had that baby, weâd have gone our separate ways with a clean break!â
Dolores winced at the pain, her face twisting.
âThen why donât you just ask me to have another child to make up for it? So you can finally cut all ties with me!â
