He pulled out his phone, intending to call a reporter, but was suddenly stopped by a hand. The hand was delicate. Conroy turned to see who it belonged to and was startled. “Mrs. Aston?”

“Are you here for lunch?” Kamila responded, glancing at the restaurant behind Conroy. “Or are you here to handle some matters?”

“Well…” Conroy was at a loss for words, unsure whether he should discuss his situation with Kamila.

As he hesitated, Kamila said, “I heard you were about to reveal that Eileen isn’t your biological daughter, right?”

Caught off guard, Conroy nodded awkwardly. “Mrs. Aston, I didn’t mean to take it this far. It’s just that they were too harsh in kicking me out…”

“How did it go? Did Eileen agree to cough up fifty million as hush money?”

Conroy’s face fell. “No.”

Gianna’s expression immediately darkened. “What did you say to her? Didn’t you follow my instructions? The Vazquez family is powerful. They care about their reputation. Leyla wouldn’t want Dottie’s past exposed.”
