Chapter 913:
Eileen had now made the same decision.
Leyla continued, âTheir separation was due to misunderstandings. Your grandfather was at fault. I feel sorry for them, but there is no going back. Your mother managed to move on. Over the years, she encountered members of the Aston family several times but always kept your identity a secret, never revealing who you really were.â
Despite the current turmoil within the Vazquez family, only some close relatives knew that Eileen was not actually Conroyâs biological daughter.
As for the media, Conroy had not disclosed it. After all, revealing this would make his intentions to take control of the VQ Group even more apparent, given that he had married into the Vazquez family and lived there for so many years. Being Eileenâs father could still provide some benefits for him.
âI understand, so I wonât do anything. Donât worry. I took it out as a keepsake. If you think itâs inappropriate, I can put it back,â Eileen reassured Leyla.
âThatâs not necessary,â Leyla responded.
âNeither of us will react as emotionally as your mother would have upon seeing this. Since she has passed and youâve already taken it out, just keep it with you.â
After putting the box away, Eileen shifted the conversation and shared a meal with Leyla.
However, Eileen hadnât anticipated that the very next morning, right after breakfast, she would hear one of the Vazquez familyâs servants announce, âMr. Aston is here.â
Every journey starts at gαâηÏνððsâ¤cðð Leyla nodded and instructed the servant to usher Keith in. She then turned to Eileen and cautioned, âHeâs your father, but remain composed. Heâs unaware of your true identity.â
âOkay,â Eileen replied. Having witnessed the bitter conflicts within the upper echelons of society, Eileen sought to distance herself from any further family squabbles.
Despite her initial composure, Eileen couldnât help but feel a surge of nervousness when Leyla revealed the personâs identity.
In the distance, a tall figure, who should have been over fifty years old but looked no older than forty, trailed behind a servant. Keith sported a relaxed, casual look in his sportswear and hat, yet his expensive watch hinted at a more affluent persona. But the outfit made him appear surprisingly approachable.
His presence made a positive impression on anyone he met.
âHello, Mrs. Vazquez.â As Keith entered, he leaned in slightly to greet Leyla, but his eyes wandered to Eileen several times.
Eileen nodded at him and said with a smile, âHello, Mr. Aston.â
Last night, Leyla had told her a lot about Keith. Even though he and Dottie hadnât ended up together, they had maintained a peaceful and harmonious relationship.
Later on, when Dottie had lost Eileen, Keith had helped her look for Eileen for a long time. To a certain extent, he had been Dottieâs rock, always motivating Dottie and helping her keep the hope of finding Eileen someday alive. After Dottieâs death, Keith visited Leyla every year.
âThis isâ¦?â Keithâs lips curved into a relieved smile.
