Chapter 890:
âToo late,â Eileen interjected, her voice firm. âIâm handling the wedding. Iâll stay with Grandma and get her opinion on things.â
With that, she grabbed her bag from the dresser and walked out. She definitely wasnât sleeping here tonight.
Bryanâs mood soured as he lay on the bed, filled with regret. He realized he shouldnât have made her angry just now.
At lunch, Eileen and Gabriela sat beside Leyla, leaving Bryan to sit next to his daughter. He glanced at Eileen several times, but she completely ignored him.
Meanwhile, Gianna and Conroy were ignored by everyone, left in the corner. They had missed dinner the night before and hadnât had breakfast that day. If they didnât eat now, they would be starving until dinner.
Conroy felt he couldnât hold on anymore, and his stomach rumbled.
Eileen and the others finished their meal and left, leaving a table of leftovers for Conroy and Gianna.
A servant hesitantly asked, âMs. Vazquez, Mr. Finch, would you like to eat now?â
âHell no!â Gianna snapped. She had been pampered her whole life and would rather starve than eat someone elseâs leftovers.
Although she had shared meals with Leyla and Eileen before, the current situation felt different. It seemed like a deliberate insult.
âHold on!â Conroy said as the servant started clearing the table. âWeâre family. It doesnât matter who eats first. Letâs not starve ourselves.â
Discover whatâs new on gαâηÏvðlsâ¤com âNo way!â Gianna said, glaring at Conroy. âTake all this away,â she told the servant. âTell Leyla that if she doesnât want us to starve, she better let us eat something fresh!â
The servant hesitated, then went to find Leyla. She returned moments later.
She looked at Gianna and Conroy, who were staring at her hopefully, and said, âMrs. Vazquez says you deserve to starve.â
Conroy was taken aback, nearly choking on his own saliva.
The servant promptly started clearing the table, throwing the leftovers in the trash right in front of Conroy and Gianna.
Giannaâs face turned red. She hadnât expected that from Leyla. She turned and walked into the living room, the bodyguards surrounding her.
In the dead of night, while the bodyguards slept, a servant tossed two stale pieces of toast through the window. Gianna and Conroy, despite their wounded pride, were famished. They couldnât resist the food and quickly ate it.
Unbeknownst to them, a security camera with its red light blinking, captured their every move.
In the stillness of the bedroom, Eileenâs phone buzzed incessantly. The screen lit up with a barrage of messages from Bryan.
Eileen put her phone down, raising her eyes to Leyla. âIf youâre worried theyâll starve, just give them some food directly. Why are you doing it in secret?â
âYou donât understand,â Leyla said with a smirk. âYouâve got the business smarts, but you donât know how to deal with snakes. Watch and learn how I handle Conroy and Gianna. Once theyâre out for the count, after Iâve dealt with them, Maximo and his people will target your next. Thatâs when youâll have to step up and handle them.â
