Chapter 858:
She was the legitimate heir, for crying out loud, while Jessica was nothing but an illegitimate daughter.
As Bryan drafted a response, Eileen watched with anticipation.
âMarrying into the Dawson family isnât going to be easy. Weâre very particular about who joins our family. I only have one daughter, and if we were to marry, Iâd expect to have more children. So, I need to be absolutely certain there are no genetic health issues in your family.â
Rich families were obsessed with keeping their bloodlines pure, so pre-marital health checks were standard procedure. Bryan and Jessica werenât anywhere near marriage, but Bryanâs message was loud and clearâhe wanted to dig into Jessicaâs familyâs medical history. Eileen silently gave Bryan a thumbs-up.
But then, she realized something: âThis will only lead to Conroy and Gianna getting physical examinations, not the paternity test we need.â
Jessica quickly replied, âIâm perfectly healthy, and I can get you my parentsâ medical records. Theyâre both in great shape!â
âIâm afraid thatâs not enough. If youâre serious about this, Iâll need blood samples from you, your parents, and any living relatives. Iâll have them tested myself. And I expect full disclosure about your parentsâ identities. My family doesnât associate with people with shady pasts,â Bryan responded.
Bryan put his phone down, a smug grin on his face. âSheâll get Conroy to tell me the truth and hand over his blood sample.â
Eileen was speechless. She had been playing along with Bryan and had agreed to his terms to do this, and all it took were a few words from him?

Bryan waved off her compliment.
âDonât distract me. Iâve got work to do.â
âIâll be quiet,â Eileen said, smiling.
âI knew you had a better plan the whole time. Doesnât matter how good my ideas are, yours is always better.â
Bryan ignored her. Eileen continued, âHey, itâs been a while since we went to the Vazquez Mansion. I told grandmother about Gabriela the last time⦠Should I take Gabriela back to see her today?â
âSure,â Bryan replied. âIf you block Jessicaâs number. Out of sight, out of mind.â This was a clear threat. If Eileen dared to leave today, he would make sure her plans went down the drain.
Eileen caved immediately.
âCan you at least go easy on me tonight? And maybe set a timer or something?â
Bryan felt resigned.
âWhy does it feel like punishment to you?â
Eileen bit her lip, unsure how to explain that she wasnât exactly a marathon runner in the sex department.
