“No. Manage the work for me,” Bryan instructed, his tone final. “We’ll stay as long as it takes for Conroy to understand the situation.”

Raymond was rendered speechless. He had forgotten to bring Bryan’s laptop over when he went back to get their belongings. And now, he would have to manage Bryan’s work for him.

Eileen wasn’t sure what Bryan meant by waiting for Conroy to understand the situation. All she knew was that Bryan was furious, and that she needed to be on her best behavior. Otherwise, Bryan would confront Conroy directly.

Eileen stayed in the hospital for three days, and news of this spread. Both Julia and Dalores had heard about it. Coincidentally, they had decided to visit Eileen on the same day.
