Chapter 843:
At the hospital, Eileenâs hand had suffered more severe burns, while Gabrielaâs minor burns were expected to heal in less than two days with the proper treatment. Despite her pain, with her hand swathed in gauze, Eileen could not contain her anger. She said to Bryan, âWhy did you rush me away? I need to make sure Jessica is permanently removed from VQ Group and kept away from Gabriela!â
âDonât you realize that the wound on your hand could worsen without treatment?â Bryan said, his voice tinged with both concern and anger.
The doctor informed them that had they arrived at the hospital sooner, Eileenâs recovery could have been quickerâpossibly in just a week. Now, however, her recovery would take at least ten days. Additionally, the severity of the wound posed a high risk of infection, potentially leading to a fever.
But Eileen hadnât focused on her own injury earlier. Back when she had been in the break room, her fury had been so intense that she needed to vent, especially since her daughter had been hurt.
Now, seeing the grave expression on Bryanâs face, Eileen wanted to comfort him and calm him down.
âEileen, youâve got to stop this now. Iâm running out of patience. If you continue to get involved in this kind of trouble, Iâll have no choice but to confront Conroy directly!â After saying this, Bryan stood up and followed Gabriela, leaving Eileen with a firm ultimatum.
Eileen paused for a moment before saying, âThen I shouldnât have pushed Jessica out of the VQ Group. Without her around, proving she is Conroyâs daughter will be even harder.â
Bryan didnât know what to say. He knew it was already too late. After what he had said to Conroy, Conroy would likely use Jessicaâs dismissal as a corrective step.

Eileen panicked. âBut the doctor said I could recover at home.â
Bryan cut her off with a firm look, and she quickly stopped talking. Well, she could stay in the hospital. It had been a while since her last hospital stay, after all. Within minutes, Eileen was settled into a VIP ward. Bryan sent Raymond home to fetch Eileenâs and his clothes and toiletries. He also made sure Raymond would order food to be delivered to them regularly.
âMr. Dawson, how long do you plan to stay here?â Raymond inquired. âDo you need me to bring your laptop?â
âNo. Manage the work for me,â Bryan instructed, his tone final. âWeâll stay as long as it takes for Conroy to understand the situation.â
Raymond was rendered speechless. He had forgotten to bring Bryanâs laptop over when he went back to get their belongings. And now, he would have to manage Bryanâs work for him.
Eileen wasnât sure what Bryan meant by waiting for Conroy to understand the situation. All she knew was that Bryan was furious, and that she needed to be on her best behavior. Otherwise, Bryan would confront Conroy directly.
Eileen stayed in the hospital for three days, and news of this spread. Both Julia and Dalores had heard about it. Coincidentally, they had decided to visit Eileen on the same day.
Dalores was the first to appear, with Julio entering the ward five minutes later. Upon seeing Dalores, Julio casually placed a fruit basket down and asked Eileen, âDid you break yourâ¦?â
