Chapter 834:
Kinsey, still young and easily embarrassed, was rendered speechless by Bryanâs words.
Suddenly, a voice cut through the tension. âKinsey, do you mind if I join you for dinner?â
Eileen turned to see Jessica sauntering in, clad in fluffy dinosaur pajamas, tossing a set of keys into her pocket. Kinsey, seeing a lifeline, smiled and welcomed her. âOf course not. Have a seat. We were just about to start eating.â
Jessica took the head of the table, with Kinsey and Bryan flanking her. Her eyes swept the room, narrowing with disgust when they landed on Eileen.
âYouâre a nanny, which means youâre a servant. Why are you at the table?â
She turned to Kinsey. âHave your servants eaten? If not, let Eileen eat with them. Canât spoil the mood here.â
Kinsey instinctively glanced at Bryan.
Bryan frowned, his gaze shifting to Eileen, silently asking, âAre you going to let that slide? If you donât do something now, I will step in!â
Eileen quickly responded, âYes, Iâm a nanny, but Iâm also the Vazquez familyâs daughter. Miss Marshall, it seems your identity is different from ours.â
Had Jessica said anything worse, Bryan might have exposed her true identity right then and there.
Under the table, Eileen lightly tugged at Bryanâs sleeve and shook her head at him. âWhatâs different about me? Weâre the same! Iâmââ
âSince thereâs no difference, letâs eat,â Eileen interjected. As she spoke, Bryan picked up his fork and began eating.

The meal left Jessica feeling frustrated. She felt as if everyoneâs gaze on her was a silent reminder of her status as an illegitimate child.
After the meal, Eileen and Bryan strolled back home with Gabriela. Dolores was tidying up the dining area when the sound of Jessica and Kinsey arguing drifted from the living room.
âWhy did you invite her over for dinner?â Jessica asked.
Kinsey responded flatly, âI only invited Mr. Dawson.â
Jessicaâs voice was sharp. âDidnât you realize? She looks after Bryanâs child. How could she not accompany him? Invite them next time! If it hadnât been here today, you would have been in trouble.â It seemed as though the mere presence of Eileen and Bryan could have hurt Kinsey somehow.
Jessica continued, âEileen is so annoying, always sticking close to Bryan. Sheâs taking care of his child too well, making him see her in a new light. Starting tomorrow, Iâm going to be around that child all the time. Eventually, Iâll make the kid prefer me over her.â
While Jessica was busy plotting her next moves, Dolores, who was washing the dishes in the kitchen, couldnât suppress a smile. Regardless of how much time Jessica spent with Gabriela, the child would never bond with her as she did with Eileen. After all, Eileen was the childâs mother!
Dolores peeked at Jessicaâs agitated figure in the living room, silently wondering how she would react when the truth about Eileenâs identity came out.
âWhatâs this?â Jessica picked up a packaged pacifier from the coffee table and turned to Kinsey. âDid you buy this?â
