Chapter 820:
âJust one photo?â Eileen looked up at Bryan, an eyebrow raised. âDid you get the full conversation? Didnât hear what we actually said?â
âDoes it even matter?â Bryan put away his phone and looked away. The real issue gnawing at him was that she had been out there among a sea of potential suitors.
Eileen could tell he was jealous.
âWhen did you get so insecure? You know youâre wealthier and way more handsome than any of those guys, right?â
âReally?â Bryan arched an eyebrow. âIs it mainly because Iâve got more money?â
Eileen was momentarily at a loss for words. Just because she had mentioned his wealth first didnât mean it topped her list! She knew Bryan had this tendency to get a bit possessive. After not seeing him all day, she indeed wanted to spend some sweet time with him. But she couldnât resist teasing him when he got like this.
âYes, Iâm married, yet I went to see lots of my suitors todayâa grave mistake. Mr. Dawson, please punish me by sending me to contemplate my actions alone. You stay here and care for your daughter.â
As Eileen spoke, she slid off the bed and quietly slipped into the adjacent room, her bare feet making no sound.
She had come here seeking a peaceful nightâs sleep, hoping to evade Bryanâs relentless questioning.
However, Bryan took advantage of the situation and became even more brazen on the bed since Gabriela was not in this room.
gⱯlnÏνð®âsï¹ðoðº is where stories live The next day, Eileen arrived at the company feeling drained because of Bryan. She lay on the sofa in her office, struggling to stay awake. Meanwhile, Raymond was summoned to watch over Gabriela, while Bryan openly exploited the work hours to attend to EB Groupâs business.
The office phone rang, and Bryan answered itâConroy was on the line.
Conroy offered to introduce Bryan to a key contact with ties to VQ Group, and this person wanted to meet Bryan over a meal. Bryan glanced at his watch and agreed to the invitation after Conroy revealed the booked restaurant for their meal.
âThe dinner may run late, so I suggest you bring your daughter and have Eileen join you as well, Mr. Dawson,â Conroy said. He kept his relationship to Eileen hidden from Bryan. He had extended the banquet invitation to Bryan the previous day, but Bryan hadnât attended.
He thought it might be wise to keep Eileenâs true identity concealed for the time being. Maybe someday, she could surprise him in an unexpected way.
After all, individuals like Bryan were always cautious. If he discovered Eileen was his daughter and suspected a deliberate setup, it could spark complications.
âSure,â Bryan replied. He hung up the phone and signed a document. Looking up, he noticed Eileen had been roused by the call, her sleepy gaze fixed on him, unblinking.
âYou need to go to lunch with me today,â he said.
âOkay,â Eileen replied, her voice lacking emotion. She rose, ambled into the lounge, washed her face, and stretched, shaking off the remnants of sleep. By the time she arrived, she was fully awake.
Worried that Eileen might be too tired, Bryan tasked Raymond with watching Gabriela. Despite his advanced education, Raymond couldnât escape the childcare duties assigned by his boss. Raymond drove to the hotel, brought out a lollipop from his pocket, and used it to coax Gabriela into his arms. He then followed behind Eileen and Bryan as they entered the hotel.
