Chapter 810:
âYes, I will,â Eileen said. âAs soon as everything here is sorted out, Iâll be back.â
She could hardly stand the cold in Alverton. Once the Group was stabilized and the Vazquez family matters were resolved, she planned to discuss with Leyla about heading back to Onaland.
Roderickâs joy was palpable.
âThatâs fantastic! When youâre back, Iâll have a few new dishes at my restaurant waiting for you.â
They chatted a bit longer. Then, Eileen received a call from Gianna.
Eileen finished her call with Roderick and answered Giannaâs call.
âEileen, why donât you take a day off today? Letâs head back to the Vazquez Mansion,â Gianna said.
âWhatâs the matter?â Eileenâs brow furrowed instinctively. She had been chatting with Leyla just last night over dinner. Could something have happened to Leyla?
Gianna smiled and replied, âNothing urgent. I just thought it would be nice for you to come home. Iâve organized a little welcome-back party for you at the mansion. A few family friends will be there. Oh, and bring Mr. Dawson along if you can.â
Gianna had met Bryan before.
Eileen knew that if Bryan accompanied her, it would expose his identity.
But she decided not to decline directly. âIâll talk with Mr. Dawson about this,â she replied.
Let your mind wander with gⱯlnÏνððsï¹ð¬ð¸ðº They ended the call shortly after. Gabriela, awakened by their conversation, gazed up at Eileen with wide eyes.
Upon noticing her mother looking back at her, Gabriela smiled.
âMommy, hug!â
Scooping Gabriela up, Eileen headed to the study to find Bryan. Despite working late last night, Bryan was already awake. He was just about to step out as Eileen entered with Gabriela. He took Gabriela into his arms.
âI need to return to the Vazquez family mansion today. Theyâre throwing a welcome banquet to introduce me publicly as the long-lost granddaughter of the Vazquez family,â Eileen said, her tone laced with a hint of irony.
Bryan replied, âTheyâll likely invite Julio because of the project. You can ask his help if you need anything there.â He knew his presence at the event was not possible, so he didnât even ask about it. Gabriela couldnât go either.
Eileen, standing on her toes, gently kissed Gabrielaâs cheek.
âSweetheart, you need to be good at home with Daddy, alright?â
Gabriela pouted and said without hesitation, âWant Mommy to stay!â
Bryan interjected with an enticing offer, âWhat if I get you a black cat?â
His words instantly brightened Gabrielaâs mood, her recent obsession with a cartoon cat making the promise especially compelling. Gabriela instantly smiled.
âOkay! Daddy will buy me a black cat!â
