Chapter 804:
Just as they were about to continue their conversation, Kinsey appeared, scanning the area. When he spotted Dolores and Eileen together, he quickly approached.
âWhat are you doing here?â he asked Eileen.
Dolores nodded. âOr just some fresh air and chatting,â Eileen explained. She saw Kinsey take the document from Dolores and subtly signal her to leave. Eileen raised an eyebrow but kept her expression neutral.
Eileen and Kinsey entered the company building and rode the elevator together.
âWhen are you heading back to the Vazquez Mansion? Could you give me a lift then?â Eileen asked casually. Without even glancing up, Kinsey replied, âI donât think thatâs a good idea.â
Eileen said, âWhy not? Weâre cousins. What could people possibly say? Oh, by the way, I think itâs about time my position here was made clear to everyone. Otherwise, those people will continue to make things difficult for me.â
âYou should take that up with your father. Iâm not in charge of VQ Group. Weâre equals here; I donât have a say in that matter,â Kinsey replied.
Eileen smiled, undeterred. âCould you at least pass the message along for me? Thanks.â As if the thought had just occurred to her, she added, âBy the way, where is your father?â Eileen had only met Gianna and Kinsey but had never met Giannaâs husband.
âMy parents⦠theyâve divorced,â Kinsey said, casting his gaze downward, clearly uncomfortable.
âItâs best you donât bring this topic up in front of my mother,â he added.
Your source for updates gⱯlnÏνð®lsâ¤com Eileen nodded. âUnderstood.â
The elevator doors slid open, and the two exited. Kinsey headed toward Conroyâs office, while Eileen made her way back to Bryanâs.
As Eileen entered, Gabriela bounded over to her, and Eileen scooped her up, sinking into the plush embrace of the sofa. A sigh escaped her lips.
âIâve had enough of their dawdling. If they want to strike against me, they should stop wasting time. My patience has worn thin. Perhaps itâs time to take matters into my own hands.â
Bryan, looking up from his papers, paused before responding, âDo you need anything? Raymondâs just a call away. I have a video meeting tonightâitâll probably run late.â He clearly meant that he was unable to help her today.
âAlright,â Eileen replied. She retrieved her phone and dialed Raymond. âCome home with me after work,â she said.
Raymondâs voice crackled with shock. âWhat? Come home with you? Thatâs probably not the best idea⦠Did you and Mr. Dawson have another fight? Look, if youâre mad, just take it out on him. He wonât dare fight back. But please, spare meâ¦â The poor manâs voice trembled. He was sensing the turbulence of Eileen and Bryanâs conflicts closing in on him.
âCome home with us! Not with me alone,â Eileenâs voice was clipped, impatience edging her words.
âOkay, okay!â Raymond responded swiftly, his tone brightening with relief as he ended the call.
In the evening, Raymond brought dinner. After eating, Bryan disappeared upstairs for his meeting.
