Chapter 802:
Eileen nodded. âMy previous job⦠I called it tiring.â
Conroy was left speechless.
Silence fell, and Eileen struggled to suppress her laughter.
She looked at Conroy with a serious expression and asked, âAm I wrong?â
âFine, then tell me who should be fired,â Conroy was clearly frustrated.
âMiss Marshall, for starters. I think she just wanders around all day. If she canât contribute anything useful, then let her go. And you and Kinsey are relatives. Only one of you should stay in the company to oversee everything. Thereâs no need for both of you here, draining the payroll. If we fire people like this, we could cut the staff by half. We could reduce a lot of our losses,â Eileen stated confidently.
âReducing staff isnât the way to address our core issues. We need to tackle the root of the problem.â
Conroy shifted away from the topic of reducing the staff.
âThe problem is, youâre not capable enough to manage the company. Thatâs why the company is facing bankruptcy now,â Eileen said. âYou canât pinpoint the issue, and you expect me to come up with a solution? This is absurd.â
Before Conroy could respond, there was a knock on the office door, and Bryan entered with Gabriela in his arms.
Bryan glanced at Eileen and then turned to Conroy.
âMr. Finch, how much longer will you need my employee?â

âDonât talk nonsense!â Conroy quickly interjected. He suddenly became anxious. He stood up, walked around the desk, and positioned himself in front of Eileen to block her from Bryanâs view.
He smiled at Bryan and said, âDawson, I apologize. I was merely jesting with Eileen. Thereâs nothing more for her to do here. We can address matters later.â
Then, he turned to Eileen and whispered sternly, âThe companyâs financial issues are confidential. How can you discuss them so freely with someone not employed here?â
And Bryan was clearly not an employee of VQ Group.
âYes, Mr. Finch,â Eileen replied. She then left with Bryan.
Once in Bryanâs office, Eileen said, âHe lied to me, saying VQ Group was nearing collapse and asked me to find a solution. I just played along to have some fun.â There was no real progress.
However, the woman who had been hiding in Conroyâs place had not left yet. Eileen returned daily to review the surveillance footage and noticed the woman hadnât stepped outside even once.
Unsure of what to do next, Eileen retrieved her phone and called Dalores at Kinseyâs place.
Dalores, having been outside in the cold for two hours the previous night, had caught a cold.
âEileen, whatâs up?â
âWhat happened to you last night?â Eileen asked, concerned. âWhatâs going on with you and Julio?â
