Chapter 800:
âI donât know. Didnât she head home early?â Eileen sat up, puzzled.
âShe hasnât come back,â Kinsey said in a low voice. âDo you remember Mr. Ferguson from the banquet? I suspect he might be involved in Daloresâ disappearance.â
Eileen suddenly made the connection and responded, âI have a friend in Onaland who knows Mr. Ferguson. Iâll reach out to him.â
After ending the call, Eileen rose from her bed and walked out of the bedroom. She then dialed Julioâs number. As soon as he answered, she asked directly, âDo you know where Dalores is?â
âI donât know,â Julio replied. The background noise suggested he was in a noisy place, possibly a bar.
Eileen didnât probe further but said, âDalores is in thin clothing and doesnât have her phone. She could die if she spends the night outside in this weather.â
She had finished speaking when the call abruptly ended. She then texted Julio the address of her neighborhood, guessing that Dalores would likely try to return there. Given that Julio had left her somewhere, it shouldnât be hard for him to trace her path back.
Despite her actions, Eileen remained uneasy and found it hard to fall asleep after returning to her bedroom. Bryan tried several times to take her phone away, but each time she managed to retrieve it while he was asleep.
Eventually, Bryan grew frustrated. He pinched her cheek and said, âHow can you be so unruly? If you keep this up, how am I supposed to teach Gabriela anything?â
âWhat?â Just as Eileen saw a short video from Julio showing Dalores getting into a taxi, providing some relief, she was caught off guard by Bryanâs comment.

âIf you donât listen to me, she wonât either. You skipped the soup this morning, and she copied you. I told her twice, but she just pointed at you to stop,â Bryan replied.
Even though Gabriela could only say a few words, her remarks were often sharp. Bryan found he couldnât win arguments with her.
âThen just donât serve me soup next time. If she doesnât see it, sheâll assume Iâve had it,â Eileen countered.
Hearing this, Bryan was momentarily speechless, feeling a headache coming on. After a while, he said, âYou think sheâs as easy to fool as you?â
His tone, dripping with sarcasm, made Eileen roll her eyes. She retorted, âI donât know about that, it seems sheâs smarter than you.â
Gabriela always had ways to make Bryan listen to her.
Eileen believed that whether Gabriela had a good or bad temper didnât depend on her. She knew Gabriela was clearly spoiled by Bryan, but she was also spoiled by him.
After talking with Bryan for a while, Eileen turned around and drifted off to sleep.
At VQ Group, Conroy believed that since Eileen knew VQ Group was part of the Vazquez family, he needed to involve her in the companyâs business in some capacity. He had spent the entire night deliberating and finally decided what he would let Eileen do.
The next morning, as soon as Eileen arrived at the company with Gabriela, Conroy quickly found a reason to summon her to his office.
