Chapter 792:
Dalores was taken aback.
âWhat? Hasnât he gone back to Onaland?â
Eileen shook her head.
âNo, he hasnât left. Though he hasnât reached out to me, he would surely inform me if he were leaving. Moreover, heâs here for a project; the matter hasnât been settled yet.â
Eileen bit her lip and scanned the room anxiously.
She needed Kinseyâs approval to leave; otherwise, she would have departed immediately.
âThere are so many people here. He might not even see you. Itâs best if you donât stay with Kinsey,â Eileen said. She had already warned Julio beforehand not to approach her at the event to start a conversation, and he would pretend they were strangers.
Thus, Dalores staying by her side wouldnât increase the likelihood of running into Julio.
âJust saw Mr. Dawson. Gabriela has really grown! Itâs wonderful that you both can bring her along wherever you go.â
Dalores had been eager to leave with her son. Unfortunately, her son was very young, and she lacked the financial means.
âGabrielaâs usually quite noisy. Sheâs calm right now because she doesnât see me around. Otherwise, she would be causing a commotion trying to come to me,â Eileen shifted the conversation to their children, sparking a discussion about Gabriela and Daloresâ son.
Throughout the banquet, Eileen spent most of the time talking with Dalores.
Not far off, a man in his thirties, wearing a suit, observed them with a lecherous gaze.

âDonât worry,â the man replied, swirling his glass, nearly spilling the wine due to his forceful motion.
Jessica scoffed at the sight. She quickly led Tami away and disappeared into the crowd, wary that the man might cause trouble that could implicate her.
Eileen was oblivious to the lurking dangers. She suddenly spotted Julio approaching.
What was worse, Julio was accompanied by Kinsey.
âWelcome, Mr. Walsh. A pleasure to speak with you. Let me introduce my wife, Dalores. Sheâs from Onaland as well. Perhaps we can dine together sometime,â Kinsey said, formally introducing Dalores to Julio without acknowledging Eileen.
Desperate to gain favor with Julio, Kinsey mentioned that Dalores was from Onaland as a conversation starter.
Dalores was taken aback, her gaze fixed on Julio. Julioâs face quickly turned cold.
âDalores, what are you waiting for? Say hello to Mr. Walsh,â Kinsey signaled Dalores.
Dalores hesitated, about to rise, when Julio spoke up.
âMr. Vazquez, are you sure sheâs from Onaland?â Indeed, she wasnât.
Dalores had come from a humble village background. Though Julio had brought her to Onaland ten years ago, she wasnât originally from there.
Julioâs voice was frosty, and he wore a mocking smile.
