Chapter 787:
âIsnât this Mr. Nanny?â Tami said, eyeing Eileen critically. âShopping on the clock? Do you even take your work seriously?â
Before Eileen could respond, Tami turned to Jessica. âMiss Marshall, donât you think you should discipline her?â
Jessica eyed the shopping bags and then approached Eileen. âBuying a suit for Mr. Dawson? You must know his size pretty well. Are you two close?â
Eileenâs mouth twitched at the absurd question, but she replied calmly, âMr. Dawson needed a suit for an urgent matter. He asked me to buy it for him.â
She tactfully sidestepped the other question.
âWhat about this?â Jessica scrutinized the evening gown inside one of the shopping bags and questioned sharply, âIs this for you?â
Eileen nodded affirmatively.
Jessica scoffed. âYouâre attending the business banquet as well? To babysit?â
Eileen responded firmly, âI accompany Mr. Dawsonâs daughter wherever she goes, and sheâll go wherever Mr. Dawson goes.â Before Jessica could interject, Eileen turned to Tami with a smile.
âI donât work under Miss Marshall, and she doesnât oversee my duties. If my actions bother you, perhaps you should discuss them with Mr. Dawson. Do you need me to take you to him?â
Tamiâs eyes widened in shock. âHow can you speak in front of Miss Marshall like that?â
Jessica and Tami had believed Eileen would be relegated back to the executive department after Bryanâs departure. Eileenâs audacious behavior now seemed foolish. Yet, Eileen knew that Bryan would take her with him when he left the company.

Unperturbed by their stunned expressions, Eileen proceeded straight to Bryanâs office, carrying Gabriela in her arms. She was relieved to finally set Gabriela down on Bryanâs desk, where the little girl clambered enthusiastically into her fatherâs waiting arms.
As Bryan enveloped Gabriela in a warm hug, he looked at Eileen and gestured for her to come closer. He then began gently massaging her tired arms and said, âItâs tough taking care of Gabriela on your own, isnât it? Iâve suggested hiring a nanny before. Have you given it any thought?â
Eileen quickly shook her head. âIâd rather not fuel the office gossip. Everyone already thinks I have too much leisure time, only taking care of Gabriela.â
If Conroy sensed anything unusual, it would only complicate things further. Meanwhile, as Bryan gently massaged Eileenâs arms, Gabriela, perched comfortably on his lap, playfully mimicked his actions on Eileenâs arms.
Sitting snugly against Bryan, using him like a comfy chair, Gabriela looked at Eileen with a smile while massaging her.
âDaddy, look,â she said, directing Bryanâs hands to where she had just patted Eileen, as if instructing him in the art of massage.
With a giggle, Gabriela cheekily added, âMommy bought me a dress!â
