“If not for Gabriela, you would have defeated her easily.” Bryan glanced at Gabriela’s tear-streaked face, approached her, and gently wiped away her tears with his fingertips. Turning to Eileen with a serious expression, he added, “Make sure to get justice for Gabriela next time.”

Eileen felt resigned and asked, “Couldn’t this be handled by you since you’re Gabriela’s father?”

“If I acted out of anger, the VQ Group might be at risk. Are you certain you want that?” he responded earnestly, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

He lacked the patience for meticulous planning. However, Eileen’s goal wasn’t to take control of the VQ Group but rather to ensure her mother could rest in the family cemetery. So, Eileen quickly refused him, saying, “No, thank you. I can handle this myself. In fact, it’s rather satisfying that way. When I consider it more carefully, please don’t act impulsively.”

Even though she shared Bryan’s impatience, particularly after Jessica’s recent actions, she knew she needed to remain calm and strategize. The matter could not be rushed.

Nevertheless, passivity was never her style. Eileen quickly turned to Bryan and suggested, “How about we visit Conroy’s house tonight?”

“Are you planning to make a polite visit or show up unannounced?” Bryan inquired.

Without missing a beat, Eileen answered, “Of course, the latter. There’s no use in making a formal visit. This afternoon, you came up with a reason to go to Conroy’s home in the…”

“Evening.”

“Oh, you’re giving me all the time in the world,” Bryan teased with a chuckle, leaning in to lift Eileen’s chin and kiss her softly.

Suddenly, Gabriela approached. She flung her arms around Eileen’s neck, shoved Bryan’s hand away, and planted a kiss on Eileen’s cheek. She then flashed a wide grin at Eileen and gave Bryan a playful roll of the eyes.

Bryan’s face fell into a frown, but as soon as his expression darkened, Gabriela’s eyes lit up with a mischievous smile as she called out, “Daddy…”

Her adorable demeanor immediately softened Bryan’s heart. He bent down to kiss Gabriela’s cheek and said, “I’m off to a meeting now.”

With that, Bryan turned to leave, while Gabriela swiftly wiped her cheek with her hand.

Eileen nearly burst into laughter at the scene.

Later in the afternoon, Eileen received an unexpected call from Benjamin. After exchanging pleasantries, Benjamin asked, “Mr. Ferguson has traveled to Alverton. Have you had a chance to meet with him?”

“Yes,” Eileen replied. “What’s the matter?”

After a brief pause, Benjamin responded, “I’ve heard from Mr. Ferguson’s team that he has instructed them to look into your activities in Alverton and identify everyone you’ve been in contact with this morning. Is there some sort of falling out between you two?”

“No,” Eileen replied, not surprised that Julio would be probing into her affairs. “I saw Dalores here. Julia came here looking for her, but I didn’t disclose her location to him. I suppose he’s now trying to track my contacts to find out where she is.”

In reality, Eileen believed that since Julio had discovered that Dalores was in Alverton, he would eventually find Dalores, regardless of whether he began his search with her.
