Chapter 774:
âWhat is there to answer?â Eileen responded coolly as Gabrielaâs cries continued.
âItâs absurd for a company of this level to lack a cleaner. Employees are left to manage these tasks during critical times. Even if you donât see it as an issue, itâs an evident disgrace!â
âNonsense!â Jessica spat, her face contorting with disdain. âWho do you think you are? What right do you have to criticize the companyâs policies?â
âYes, I admit Iâm not qualified,â Eileen shot back defiantly. âIf my words upset you, then fire me!â
Her bold remark left Jessica momentarily speechless.
Unable to verbally defend herself, Jessica decided to take action. She rolled up her sleeves and prepared to charge forward, but Bryan, striding over, quickly stopped her with his leg.
Consequently, Jessica lost her balance and tripped. She lunged forward uncontrollably. Noticing this, Eileen swiftly maneuvered to avoid her, holding Gabriela tightly in her arms.
Jessicaâs head collided with the wall with a resounding thud. She grimaced in pain as a dull buzzing filled her head and darkness began to cloud her vision. Settling onto the sofa, Eileen gently soothed Gabriela. She then retrieved the small jelly Gabriela liked, and as Gabriela tasted the treat, her cries slowly subsided. Gabriela tried to stand up on the sofa, clutching the armrest with her tiny hands. She looked at Jessica, who was now sprawled on the floor.
Bryan, his hands casually tucked into his pockets, surveyed Jessica with a detached expression. âMiss Marshall, youâve attempted to attack people in my office. Donât you think you owe me an explanation?â

She pushed through the pain to stand up and clarify. âIâm here to address an issue with Eileen. Sheâs been avoiding me. She deliberately pinched your daughter to make her cry. I had nothing to do with scaring your daughter!â Jessica lied without hesitation.
Eileen spun around to face Jessica and retorted, âMiss Marshall, Iâm not as heartless as to harm a child. If you doubt me, let Mr. Dawson examine Gabriela to see if there are any marks from pinching on her.â
âThe babyâs skin is so delicate that any pinch would make her cry for a long time. The pinch wonât leave a mark,â Jessica quickly said.
âMiss Marshall, youâve never had a child yourself. How could you possibly know that there would be no mark from a pinch? Gabrielaâs skin is fair and delicate. Even a firm press would leave a noticeable red mark, let alone a pinch,â Eileen countered sharply.
As Eileen spoke, Jessicaâs expression darkened. She found herself outmatched in the art of argument by Eileen. The most unsettling part was Bryanâs complete lack of response. How could he place so much trust in Eileen?
âEnough,â Bryan said, casting a detached glance at Jessica. âMiss Marshall, please refrain from coming to my office unless itâs absolutely necessary. If you need to discuss something with Eileen, inform me beforehand. And donât squabble with her in front of the child.â
Jessica quickly nodded. âIâm sorry, Mr. Dawson. This wonât happen again.â
She regretted her carelessness. Not only had she failed to resolve her issue with Eileen, but she had also nearly offended Bryan. She vowed to seize a more opportune moment to deal with Eileen once and for all.
Once Jessica had left, Eileen furrowed her brow at Bryan and asked, âAre you really comfortable letting me deal with Jessica on my own?â
