Chapter 770:
As the vice president of the Group, Eileen had earned her monthly bonuses because of her role in helping Julio reclaim the Frequeson familyâs fortune. Consequently, she believed it was her responsibility to pick up her boss from the airport.
Bryan, however, disagreed. He arranged for Raymond to pick Julio up from the airport instead.
He rolled over and went back to sleep, holding Eileen in his arms.
âI donât think itâs wise to let Raymond do this. Julia wouldnât come to Alverton without a reasonâhe must have something significant to do. I need to see him,â Eileen said as she gave him a gentle poke in the arm.
âI donât agree. Julio called my wife to fetch him early in the morning; he wasnât being polite at all.â Bryan rested his chin on Eileenâs shoulder, his forehead gently touching her cheek. His voice, laden with frustration, murmured softly in her ear, enveloping her in its sound.
Eileen responded softly, âBut he is my boss.â
âAnd your husband,â Bryan reminded her with irritation, gently nipping at her earlobe. Though Bryan applied only slight pressure, Eileen winced and pulled away. âAh! That hurts!â
As Eileen voiced her discomfort, Gabrielaâs voice chimed in.
âHit!â
Eileen and Bryan both turned to look at Gabriela, who was now awake. With sleepy eyes, Gabriela scowled at Bryan and yelled, âHit!â
âNot hurt, sweetheart,â Eileen said as she swiftly moved away from Bryan and held Gabriela in her arms. âEven if Daddy might deserve a scolding, heâs still your father. You canât hit him, alright? Thatâs Mommyâs job. Do you understand?â
. com brings magic to life Gabriela looked up at Eileen with wide eyes, not quite grasping the situation but beaming happily in Eileenâs embrace. Bryan managed a smile, but his cheerful mood was short-lived as Eileen added, âFor instance, even though my boss interrupted my sleep, he is still my boss. I canât just disregard him. Donât you agree?â
âEileen!â Bryanâs roar reverberated through the villa.
After some persuasion, Eileen finally got Bryanâs permission to go see Julio. Bryan insisted on accompanying her.
Raymond had booked Julio into the cityâs most opulent hotel. Just after Julio completed his check-in, Eileen and Bryan arrived.
In the luxurious suite, there was no sign of luggage. Only Julio, who stood by the window with a cigarette. Upon seeing Eileen and Bryan enter, Bryan carrying Gabriela, Julio hurriedly extinguished his cigarette and opened the window to let in some fresh air.
âMr. Dawson, I wasnât expecting you to be here, too,â Julio said.
âItâs no trouble at all. Feel free to reach out to me if you need anything next time,â Bryan replied, giving Julioâs hand a firm shake, subtly indicating that Julio should contact him for help instead of reaching out to Eileen.
Julio couldnât suppress a laugh after a brief pause.
Eileen glanced at Bryan before turning to Julio with a serious look.
âMr. Walsh, what brings you to Alverton so abruptly?â
âWell, thereâs an urgent project that requires my personal attention,â Julio explained after a brief pause. âI apologize for bothering you. How have you been in here?â
