Chapter 765:
With a disdainful smile, Eileen grabbed her bag and lifted Gabriela into her arms. Gabriela, hearing the argument, froze with her toy car in hand. Her wide eyes locked on Jessica.
After being picked up by Eileen, Gabriela huffed at Jessica before turning her head away in irritation. Gabrielaâs evident anger brought a smile of amusement to Eileenâs face.
While Eileen settled into the car and buckled Gabrielaâs seatbelt, she noticed the little girlâs cheeks were puffed with anger. Unable to resist, Eileen leaned in and placed a tender kiss on Gabrielaâs cheek. âDonât be upset, sweetheart. Mommyâs not angry at all,â Eileen said.
âAngry?â Gabriela echoed, mimicking the word. She extended her tiny arm and pointed outside. Eileen played a song through the carâs speaker, and Gabriela started waving her hands and feet in joy with the music, finally forgetting her anger.
Unfortunately, Eileen had forgotten to save Doloresâ phone number. If she wanted to see Dolores again, she would have to rely on another stroke of luck.
Eileen recalled how Dolores had appeared scared when she spotted Jessica. She suspected that Dolores knew Jessica, too.
Jessica watched Eileenâs car accelerate away. After a while, she retrieved her phone and dialed a number. As she walked, she spoke into the phone, âConroy, you need to help me! If you donât do something now, Eileen might push me to my breaking point. You assured me a role in overseeing Mr. Dawsonâs matters, yet now you canât control Eileen, and sheâs trampling all over me. Do you even care about me anymore?â
âCalm down. The issue with Eileen is more complex than it seems. I havenât had the chance to explain everything to you yet. Just be patient, and weâll find a solution,â Conroy responded, his tone a mix of anxiety and resolve. Gianna had just called him moments ago to report that Leyla was improving rapidly, so he needed to act quickly.

âDo you think Kinsey married Dolores because of some stipulations from the Vazquez family regarding having children? Maybe itâs a strategy to secure the family assets?â Eileen speculated.
Without raising his head, Bryan replied, âThe Vazquez family is quite prominent in Alverton. Their inheritance rules are straightforward: daughters inherit, not sons. Therefore, Kinsey didnât marry Dolores to benefit from her, but likely has some other schemes involving Dolores.â
In other words, Doloresâ child wouldnât provide Kinsey with any advantage within the Vazquez family.
âThe situation with wealthy families is always so intricate,â Eileen remarked.
âIn the next life, we should be reborn into a regular family together. Weâd manage on a modest income. As long as we have enough to eat, everything will be fine.â
âYou have a knack for drawing wealth and prosperity into your life,â Bryan smiled. âEven if weâre reborn into an ordinary family, Iâll still find myself wealthy and influential because of you.â
Eileen pondered for a while. Then she said to Bryan, âIn that case, Iâll pass my good fortune to someone else and help them become a bit wealthier. You donât need it.â
Bryanâs smile faded slightly as he showed his discontent. He set his papers aside, walked over to her, and encircled her from behind as she sat on the sofa.
