Chapter 764:
Dolores shook her head again.
âHe never specified an end date. At the time, my circumstances didnât allow me any leverage to negotiate.â
Thus, she was stuck in her current situation, uncertain if she would ever escape.
âWhy are you here in Alverton? How did you know about the Vazquez family?â Dolores asked.
Eileen explained everything to Dolores. She knew that to maintain a low profile in Onaland and avoid Kinseyâs future suspicions, she needed cooperation in keeping up the facade.
âIt makes sense now. I overheard Kinsey mentioning a cousin recently. I never imagined you were the long-lost child of the Vazquez family,â Dolores said.
When Dolores heard that Eileen was hiding her true identity as Bryanâs wife, she grimaced and responded, âThis is too complicated. If I hadnât been in dire need of money, I wouldnât have gotten involved.â
âIf youâre considering leaving, I can offer financial support. Iâm not sure what Kinsey and Conroy are scheming, or how you and your child fit into their plans.â There was clear worry on Doloresâ face. Eileen didnât hesitate to offer her full support.
Dolores considered this for a moment, but before she could respond, she noticed someone approaching from a distance. She was so startled that she quickly stood up and exclaimed, âJessica is here!â
Jessica was visible through the window, stepping out of a car. She wore pink overalls, and her hair was styled in a ponytail. Her playful attire was at odds with her angry expression. Dolores quickly ducked down, gripping the stroller, ensuring that when Jessica glanced over, she only saw Eileen. Jessica then turned and made her way toward the coffee shop.

Jessica had already entered through the coffee shopâs front entrance. She marched straight toward Eileen, raising her hand to slap her.
But Eileen swiftly caught her wrist and calmly asked, âMs. Marshall, what exactly do you think youâre doing?â
âWhat do you think Iâm doing?â Jessica snapped, fury evident in her voice. âHow dare you trick me last night? When exactly did Mr. Dawson give you that card? You were the one who placed it in there. How did you manage to get Mr. Dawson to protect you like that?â
Jessica had suppressed her anger all night, eagerly awaiting the chance to confront Eileen at the office. But after spending the entire morning waiting at the company, she discovered that Eileen and Bryan hadnât gone to work at all. Enraged, she hurried back and, from afar, noticed Eileenâs car parked near the mallâs entrance. She headed straight inside, her demeanor frosty.
Eileen shook off Jessicaâs hand and replied, âIf youâre curious about why Mr. Dawson is protecting me, ask him yourself. Thereâs no reason to direct your frustration at me.â
âDirect my frustration at you?â Jessica pulled back her hand and sneered. âWho do you think you are? Youâre not worth my wrath! I could end you easily. Today is your final opportunityâleave now before itâs too late!â
âI have no interest in your so-called opportunity,â Eileen replied icily. âIf youâre so competent, stop just talking big. Do whatever you want to do then. Your threats are simply irritating.â
