Chapter 757:
âNo,â Conroy replied instinctively.
Yet, he realized he couldnât deter Eileen, who was determined to move into Bryanâs house that evening. Moreover, since Mr. Dawson had invited him to dinner, avoiding Eileen would be impossible.
Thus, he said, âThatâs just company-provided accommodation. Also, Mr. Yates has now delegated the project with Mr. Dawson to me. So, Mr. Dawson and I appear as equals. But please, donât reveal our connection to Mr. Dawson.â He warned Eileen of potential issues in advance.
After listening to Conroyâs extensive explanations, Eileen realized that she would not act like she knew Conroy at Bryanâs place, nor would she suspect his role when she observed him conducting business with Bryan.
She suddenly felt that acting was really a daunting task. After listening to Conroy talk for a long time, she finally seized an opportunity to leave and returned to Bryanâs office.
âMr. Dawson, please maintain a safe distance from me in Conroyâs presence. We also shouldnât reveal that he heads the VQ Group. Otherwise, our charade canât continue,â Eileen said as she settled on the sofa and entertained Gabriela. Glancing up at Bryan, who stood by his desk.
The VQ Group had been planning a significant project for several years, and its success was uncertain. Bryanâs timely arrival had provided Conroy with much-needed opportunity. Additionally, since Bryan was open to offering his advice, Conroy had secured his services with a hefty monthly salary.
Of course, this was kept a secret from the business world.
Explore gαâηÏvðâsâ¤com for fresh content Bryan, however, accepted the substantial payment with ease. Staff from both the project and planning departments sought his decisions. For the most part, he worked remotely, managing tasks for the EB Group and the Apex Group from his computer.
âIâve observed many attempts to conceal their identities, but itâs rare to see someone try to hide anotherâs identity,â Bryan remarked.
Eileen had never encountered such a situation before. Hearing the teasing tone in Bryanâs words, she grinned and said, âIf I figure out whether Jessica is living with Conroy, Iâll have my answer. This wonât take long.â
âNow that Conroy is aware youâre moving next door, heâll definitely be more cautious. I imagine if Jessica and Conroy are living together, theyâll try to cover everything before this afternoon,â Bryan said, finding it easy to predict Conroyâs next move.
Eileen understood this and felt a headache coming on.
âI refuse to believe I wonât uncover any clues,â she muttered.
At three in the afternoon, Bryan and Eileen left under the pretext of packing. However, they actually headed straight home. When they returned, Eileen noticed Jessica exiting a villa to the right with a suitcase, heading deeper into the villa area. Jessica seemed upset and was talking on her phone, oblivious to their passing car.
Eileen and Bryan stopped the car at the villaâs gate, got out, and watched as Jessica entered a villa on the street. Eileen then glanced to the left; that villa belonged to Kinsey. To the right was Conroyâs, and across the street was Jessicaâs.
âBy the way, have you ever met Kinseyâs wife?â Eileen whispered to Bryan as she entered the villa with Gabriela in her arms.
Bryan opened the door, ushering them inside, his hand resting gently on her jacket as he replied, âI hardly get to see my own wife, let alone someone elseâs.â
