Chapter 750:
âIâm just using it as an excuse to maintain contact with him and to see you whenever I want,â Bryan said. âBut I didnât anticipate that he would invite me directly to the group and suggest Jessica as Gabrielaâs nanny.â
Eileen was at a loss for words. Jessica appeared too young. Her role as the company director confirmed she was an adult, but she was clearly not suitable to care for a baby.
âSo, Conroy asked you out to dinner tonight just so Jessica could become the nanny?â Eileen asked.
âYes,â Bryan replied. Eileen, a bit confused, thought for a moment. Why was Conroy so eager to push Jessica towards Bryan? After all, Bryan was quite a catch, and with rumors now circulating that his wife had passed away, this made him a sought-after bachelor. Wasnât Conroy concerned that Jessica might develop feelings for Bryan? Or perhaps he wasnât bothered by this at all. As long as Jessica could gain Bryanâs affection, it would facilitate smoother cooperation between Bryanâs company and the VQ Group in the future.
âGood luck!â Eileen ended the conversation abruptly. Having said that, she turned her car around, shook off the car tailing her, and headed home. She thought it best not to let Conroyâs people discover where she lived to avoid any assumptions about her financial status. However, she hadnât anticipated that Bryan would return within twenty minutes.
âDidnât you go to dinner with them?â Eileen asked, fresh out of the shower and wearing a face mask. Her slender form was partially concealed by her nightdress.
Bryan removed Gabrielaâs shoes and set her down. As soon as Gabrielaâs feet hit the floor, she scampered towards Eileen with her arms raised. Her little feet pattered across the floor, echoing her joyful giggles. Eileen quickly moved toward Gabriela and lifted her into her arms.

After the kiss, Gabrielaâs lips were smeared with the serum from the face mask, and she looked bewildered, quickly wiping her mouth with her hands. She then tapped Eileenâs face and widened her eyes in confusion.
âFace mask,â Eileen explained.
Bryan approached after changing his shoes and said, âConroy suggested Jessica could look after Gabriela, and I turned it down immediately. So, I didnât eat anything at dinner and quickly returned.â
Earlier today at the company, Conroy had discussed business with Bryan but only hinted that Jessica was fond of children. During dinner, he had directly suggested Jessica take care of Gabriela.
Bryan had rejected the offer quickly, but he hadnât dismissed it outright. Instead, he had suggested, âYour company has many employees. You could choose someone else to assist me.â
âYou are basically telling him you want me to be the nanny,â Eileen grasped his intention. âThen Iâll stay at home every day to care for the child while you deal with Conroy?â
âThatâs not appropriate. You should deal with him on your own,â Bryan stated firmly.
Eileen was left speechless.
âConroy is launching a project. He wants me to be the planner and participate in it. The profits and losses wonât affect me. He trusts my skills. I accepted, and he promised to help me find a nanny. I also mentionedâ¦â Bryan leaned closer and whispered in Eileenâs ear, âI havenât found a suitable place to live yet. He told me the house next to his is available for rent, and Iâve asked him to help me secure it.â
Thus, whoever became the nanny would be moving into the house next to Conroyâs with Bryan.
