Chapter 729:
After Bryan and Gabriela vanished through the gate, Eileen wheeled Leyla into the room.
âWait a minute,â Leyla said abruptly, placing her hand on the wheels to halt the wheelchair.
At this, Eileen stopped in her tracks.
âIs something wrong, Grandma?â she asked.
âTracey is in the room. Take me to the garden,â Leyla replied, pointing in a particular direction.
Lifting her gaze, Leyla looked at Eileen, signaling her with her eyes. Eileen caught on quickly and changed direction.
The next second, Tracey emerged from the room. âMiss Curtis, itâs chilly outside. Why donât you bring Mrs. Vazquez back inside since youâve finished eating?â
âIâd like to go out and enjoy the sun for a bit,â Leyla said promptly. Tracey still approached them with the intention of taking the wheelchair.
âItâs too cold this early in the morning. There isnât any sunlight yet.â
Eileen maintained her grip on the wheelchair handles as Tracey gently patted her wrist, suggesting, âLet me take her back inside.â
Leylaâs face showed a mix of urgency and disappointment, her eyes wide with unspoken concern.
Eileen firmly pushed Traceyâs hand away. âNo need. Iâm taking my grandma out for a little stroll in the garden. Sheâs bundled up well, and even though the morning sun isnât strong, the weather isnât too cold. Besides, the air in the garden is fresh and invigorating at this hour. Weâll be outside for a while.â

Turning slightly, Eileen asked, âAny other concerns?â
Eileenâs commanding presence rendered Tracey speechless. Just yesterday, Eileen had been the epitome of calm and gentleness, but today, she exuded a strong and commanding demeanor, looking like an entirely different person.
Without thinking, Tracey shook her head slightly and replied, âNo.â
âGrandma, letâs visit the garden,â Eileen said. Then, she wheeled Leyla away.
A soft smile played on Leylaâs lips as she sat in her wheelchair, a twinkle of amusement in her eyes as she thought of something.
The garden was bathed in the soft glow of early morning sunshine, surrounded by expansive plains that the wind constantly caressed.
Once they found a sheltered nook, Eileen knelt down to adjust Leylaâs clothing.
Suddenly, Leyla clasped Eileenâs hand firmly and said with conviction, âYouâre sharp. You must have realized thereâs something amiss with the Vazquez family.â
Eileen looked up, her expression a mix of shock and confusion. âI noticed something amiss, but I canât pinpoint what it is,â she admitted.
âTake Grandmaâs advice. Donât trust anyone easily. The situation here is far more complicated than it seems,â Leyla said urgently.
No sooner had she spoken than the sound of footsteps approached.
