Chapter 707:
It was a two-story duplex in a less affluent neighborhood, yet it still cost about two million dollars.
A few days ago, Judie and Denise had asked Eileen for some money. They had claimed that Roderick only had a few hundred thousand dollars.
Eileenâs initial guess when she arrived here was that it was a rented apartment.
However, according to Deniseâs words, it seemed Roderick had bought the apartment.
âCome on in, Eileen,â Roderick called loudly from inside.
It was obvious he didnât want Eileen to have to listen to Denise.
When Eileen entered, she noticed the decor was outdated, leading her to believe the property wasnât a new one.
âWhen did you buy this apartment?â Eileen asked casually as she changed her shoes.
Roderick waved dismissively and said, âI didnât buy this place. Itâs rented. Judie didnât tell me until after she rented it. Iâm too pleased, but as long as sheâs happy, she can do whatever she wants.â
Eileen frowned as she remembered Deniseâs smug look.
âThe rent is quite cheap. It costs only two thousand dollars a month,â Roderick said as he instructed the workers to move the items into a room.
Two thousand dollars? That amount couldnât even rent a room in this apartment.
Eileen was now even more sure that Judie had been lying to Roderick.
But if this apartment wasnât rented, how could they afford to buy it?

They had hired a nanny to look after the baby. When Eileen went upstairs, the nanny was outside in the sun, playing with the baby. The sunlight was being used to treat the babyâs jaundice.
Judie, who was lying on the bed, saw Eileen enter. After a pause, she sat up with a warm smile. âYouâre here, Eileen.â
Eileen nodded and then turned to look at the baby. He was a chubby little boy. He looked like Roderick and was incredibly cute.
Roderick couldnât stop grinning. Judie, still lying on the bed, asked Roderick to do various things for her, which he did without complaining.
Eileen took out a bank card and slipped it under the babyâs blanket.
âEileen!â Roderick exclaimed, looking embarrassed.
âThank you,â Judie said with a smile.
Roderick tried to take the card back to give it to Eileen, but Judie stopped him. âRoderick, why donât you go get Eileen some fruit and coffee?â
âOkay,â Eileen said to Roderick.
Reluctantly, Roderick turned and went downstairs to get what Judie had asked for.
When the nanny noticed that there was a guest, she left to attend to other tasks, leaving Judie and Eileen alone in the room.
