Chapter 706:
Bryanâs return to the business was a powerful statement. Upon his return, he swiftly made strategic moves within the EB Group, effectively thwarting the plans of those with ulterior motives.
The media only reported that Bryan had returned and was more formidable than ever. It was when Roderick saw this that he called Eileen to tell her he had become a father.
âAlright, Iâll come visit you at home when I have the time,â Eileen said, grateful for Roderickâs thoughtfulness.
There was a brief awkward silence from Roderick before he finally said, âIâm not asking you to come visit. I just wanted to share this happy news with you.â
He knew Eileen would want to buy something when she came to visit, so he wanted to make it clear that he wasnât asking for money or any gifts.
âYou donât want me to come? You donât want to be your sonâs aunt?â Eileen said, her voice slightly raised.
âItâs not that! I want you to be his aunt!â Roderick hurriedly said. âJust donât buy anything when Judie already has everything she needs.â
Eileen agreed. Once the call ended, she immediately went to the maternity store with Ruby. She had originally planned to go there to buy something for Gabriela, so she decided to use the opportunity to get something for Roderickâs family as well.
She planned to buy baby strollers, clothes, toys, and other things a child under one year old might need.
Eileen had initially planned to visit Judie the next day, but when she received the location, she discovered that it was an apartment close to her own villa. She could pass by when she was heading home.
So, Eileen asked the shopping mall to deliver the gifts to Roderickâs apartment. She then sent Ruby and Gabriela back before heading there.
Now, it was eight days after the babyâs birth. Roderick had decided to close the restaurant and stay home with his family.

âI remember asking you not to buy anything,â Roderick muttered.
Before Eileen could reply, Denise snorted, âHow much do these things cost? Itâs really not a big deal for her. Donât be so grateful to her. You give her everything, but she only gives you a little of what sheâ¦â
âMom!â A frown appeared on Roderickâs face. However, before he could respond, a delivery worker interrupted, asking where an item should be placed.
Turning to Eileen, Roderick said, âPlease have a seat. Iâll go sort things out.â
Eileen stood, bag in hand, and watched Roderick leave. Then, she turned to Denise.
Denise seemed quite smug. Noticing Eileenâs gaze, Denise straightened up and said, âThis is your first time visiting our apartment, right? It might not be as luxurious as your villa, but itâs pretty nice. I bet you didnât expect us to be living so well.â
Denise was right. Eileen really hadnât expected this.
The apartment was the smallest in the entire complex.
