Chapter 696:
The hard railing pressed lightly against Eileenâs waist. Brandonâs force felt as if it might break her.
âBrandon, donât kill her,â Jonathan said, rising from his seat and taking a few steps toward them.
Consumed by his emotions, Brandon barely registered Jonathanâs words. His obsession with seizing the Apex Group had driven him to the brink of insanity. Since being ousted by the Dawson family, he had lived like a rat, scurrying through life without hope or direction.
Brandon tightened his grip on Eileenâs neck, his voice cold and unyielding. âWill you sign the contracts or not?â
Eileen gasped, her face reddening. The pain coursing through her body was nothing compared to the torment in her heart. Images of Bryan and Gabriela flashed through her mind.
She hesitated, caught between the urge to fight back and the temptation to give up. But instinctively, she refused Brandonâs demands.
Seeing the danger Eileen was in, Jonathan sprang into action. He dashed over and grabbed Brandonâs arm, trying desperately to pull him away, but his efforts were in vain.
âDamn it! Let her go! Donât kill her!â he shouted.
The three of them wrestled near the railing, their movements frantic and chaotic. Meanwhile, Eileenâs bodyguards were overwhelmed and outnumbered by Jonathanâs men. They were soon subdued.
Jonathanâs bodyguards then moved to help him, managing to pry Brandon off Eileen.
Eileenâs weak body slid off the glass wall and fell to the floor.
âDamn it! Why did I ever agree to work with you? If you kill her, what will I get from this?â Jonathan exhaled in relief as he saw that Eileen was still alive.
Regaining his composure, Brandon quickly responded, âJonathan, she hasnât signed the contracts yet. You promised me she would sign first, and then youâd deal with her!â
âCan you really make her sign this way?â Jonathan said as he approached Eileen. He crouched beside her and grasped her wrist with a firm grip. âHereâs the deal, Eileen. You need to decide. Do you want to serve me in bed, or do you want to serve all these people?â
Jonathan grabbed Eileenâs wrist and dragged her slightly across the floor. Her long black hair splayed out around her like a dark halo.
Jonathan caught a flicker of hatred in her eyes.
He gave her face a couple of light slaps and said, âIâm dying to knowâhow is Bryan doing now? Is he dead or alive? Youâre so stubborn. Do you really think Bryan can come to your rescue?â
Eileenâs cheeks flushed red from the slaps, but she didnât look scared. âEven if he canât save me, you still wonât be able to lay a finger on me. Youâll just have to wait until Iâm dead!â
âYou are quite brave,â Jonathan chuckled. âBut what does it matter? Bryan is not coming back. Donât you just want to be my woman? Itâs tough for a widow like you to survive in this world.â
Now, the power of EB Group was a tempting prize, and many companies were eager to stake their claim. Bryanâs downfall had been the turning point. With Eileen overwhelmed and unable to manage the company, those lurking in the shadows grew bolder.
