Chapter 675:
The sight of her lying awake each night, and his inability to offer her a secure future, was too much for him to bear.
âThen Iâll go with you,â Eileen replied, unable to meet his gaze. Her lowered eyes failed to conceal her growing panic.
She said, âThe night before our wedding, Christos reached out to me. He said heâd give me the antidote if I didnât marry you. But I turned him down. It turns out he was indeed lying.â
Christos had eventually handed over the antidote. In her heart, nothing mattered more than marrying Bryan.
âDonât pay attention to him,â Bryan said, uncertain of Christosâ motives. âIâm heading to the hospital now. Enjoy your breakfast, donât wait for me.â
Eileen nodded.
When she finished breakfast, Bryan still hadnât returned. She called him, and Josue answered the call, informing her that Bryan was undergoing a comprehensive physical examination. If everything was clear, they would proceed with administering the antidote.
âBryan told me that if you called, I should be honest with you,â Josue said. âIf you want to come to the hospital, Iâll send you the address. If you hadnât called, he might secretly take the antidote and return without informing you.â
Bryan didnât want her to come.
Eileen felt a weight in her heart but eventually requested the hospitalâs address. Josue sent her the details, noting that the full results wouldnât be available until three in the afternoon.
Eileen didnât head to the hospital immediately. Instead, she texted Bryan, âYou donât want me to come?â
After a long pause, Bryan finally responded, âYou can come, but only if you promise not to cry.â

With little time to think it through, Eileen skipped lunch. She asked Ruby to put Gabriela to sleep and then headed to the hospital.
To Eileenâs surprise, she encountered an unexpected traffic jam on her way. After the traffic had cleared, Eileen finally arrived at the hospital just after 3:10 in the afternoon.
âWell, your timing is a bit unusual,â Josue said nonchalantly as he saw Eileen and glanced at the operating room.
âWhat do you mean by that?â Eileen asked, breathless from running up the stairs. âWhy are you standing outside the operating room? Where is Bryan?â
Josue gestured toward the red light above the operating room and said, âHeâs inside.â
The glaring red light in the upper left corner caught Eileenâs attention, making her frown as she asked, âWhat does that mean?â
âThe results are in. Heâs in good health and meets the criteria for the injection. Heâs currently in the operating room receiving the antidote,â Josue replied.
