Chapter 653:
After filling the shopping cart to the brim, Bryan asked Eileen to escort the delivery person to the car. He mentioned he needed to pick up a seasoning he had forgotten.
However, when Eileen returned to the car and waited for a bit, she saw Bryan approaching with two large bags of snacks. The bags werenât too heavy, so he carried them himself. They were so full that they bulged with an abundance of snacks.
âAre you satisfied?â Bryan asked, lifting the two bags, his gaze filled with affection.
Eileen smiled at him. âHurry and bring those up.â
They must be quite heavy.â
She tried to get out of the car, but Bryan stopped her by blocking the car door from opening.
Eileen quickly opened the trunk, allowing Bryan to load the bags inside.
With two days remaining before the wedding, she had delegated most of her work tasks to Benjamin and Julio. It was a rare chance for her to rest, so she spent nearly every day with Bryan.
The day before the wedding, Eileen and Bryan took Gabriela to the Dawson Mansion at Stellaâs request.
As soon as Bryan stepped inside, Jarred approached him with a smile. Glancing into the living room, he leaned in and whispered, âMr. Warren stopped by last night.â
âKian Warren?â The mention of this name, which had been absent from Eileenâs life for so long, made her heart race with unease.
Jarred nodded and explained, though he wasnât sure what Mr. Warren discussed with Bryanâs grandmother. Since his departure, she had been troubled and hadnât slept well through the night.
It seemed clear that Stellaâs sudden call to bring Eileen and Bryan here this morning was related to Kian.

As soon as Stella saw them coming, her troubled expression vanished. She greeted them with a smile and invited them to sit down.
âHow are the preparations for the wedding tomorrow going?â she asked.
The moment Eileen took her seat, Stella reached out, gently patting the back of her hand.
Such gestures of familiarity were not new, but had Jarred not mentioned anything, Eileen might not have suddenly felt a sense of aversion toward Stella, who now seemed to have an ulterior motive.
Instinctively, Eileen pulled her hand away and offered Bryan a glass of water from the coffee table.
âAll the arrangements are in place,â she replied.
âSo, who have you invited?â Stella inquired further.
âOther than Josue and his mother, Jacob and his wife, the guest list only includes you and Eileenâs family,â Bryan answered succinctly.
