Ruby, sobbing, said, “It’s all my fault! If I hadn’t been sick, you wouldn’t have gotten involved with him. You might have married someone ordinary, and although you wouldn’t be as wealthy, you’d have had a simple, happy life.”

Eileen shook her head. She couldn’t bear the thought of life without Bryan. “I can’t imagine a life without him,” she whispered.

Ruby wiped her tears and said through sobs, “I’ll do everything I can to help with the wedding. And make sure to invite Roderick and the others.”

Eileen nodded, understanding that even though she didn’t want a big wedding, her close family and friends needed to be there. Despite Denise’s behavior, Roderick was still a good brother to her.

“Alright, I’ll call Roderick,” Eileen said, though the thought of Denise made her expression darken.

At the same time, Bryan was receiving an IV drip when Josue burst into the ward, his excitement palpable. “We’ve found Lydia!” he exclaimed. “Dewitt told me that Lydia and Christos have been spotted in the country!”

The exact location was unclear, but the police had been careful not to alert them and had decided to observe discreetly. However, Bryan and the others weren’t concerned about being cautious. They had already sent people to search for Lydia and Christos, confident they would eventually find Christos.

Bryan’s face darkened as he spoke. “Christos is playing games with us. He wants our attention, but he won’t reveal anything even if we find him. If he has something to say, he’ll come to us.”

Eileen could sense the frustration in his words. “What exactly is Christos’ game? Why attract our attention, only to leave us hanging?”

Bryan stared at the IV bottle as the transparent liquid slowly dripped down. After a prolonged silence, he suddenly said, “Call off the search. Once I’m discharged from the hospital, Eileen and I will have a wedding. It won’t be extravagant, but make sure the public knows.”

He spoke each word clearly and with determination.

Josue stood there, momentarily stunned, staring at Bryan in confusion before he finally managed to say, “Okay.”

He walked away, still unsure of Bryan’s intentions.

After Josue left, Bryan called Jacob to come and pick him up. Word of his discharge quickly spread.

Ruby had prepared a feast. Phoebe arrived with her child, and even Rylie showed up. The usually quiet and spacious villa was suddenly bustling with activity, leaving Eileen surprised by the commotion surrounding Bryan’s hospital discharge.

“Is my room ready?” Bryan asked, resting his hand on the back of a chair, leaning toward Eileen. “Even though we can’t have sex, we can still share a room.”

Eileen was at a loss for words.

Amid the noisy conversations around them, Bryan had whispered into Eileen’s ear. His tone was sincere, his face expressionless, but his words made her unable to meet his gaze.

She nudged him with her elbow and said, “We’ll live here just like before.”

Bryan smiled approvingly. “That’s good. Just make sure you drink more water; I don’t want you to get sick from withholding your desires.”

His words made Eileen struggle to stay calm, her brows furrowing.
