Chapter 624:
Perhaps it was the night he spent holding Gabriela close that unsettled his heart, making him long for their constant company.
Eileen studied Bryan, but he remained unfazed. He shot a cold glance at Judie, who was standing in the corner, and said, âYou two go ahead.â
âBryan, youâ¦â Judie was so shocked to see him alive that she struggled to speak.
âYou can plan her second marriage after Iâm dead,â Bryan said, unwilling to engage in an argument with Judie.
Moments later, a waiter served a plate of spaghetti. Out of courtesy, Judie requested another plate for Bryan. Feeling uneasy, she left shortly after.
âHave you cracked the password on the wooden box yet?â Eileen asked as she ate.
Bryan shook his head. âNo, Jacob and Josue took it.â
Eileen paused at this, her expression turning serious. âSo, thereâs a chance you wonât make it. Why did you decide to come here to see me? Are you trying to sabotage my chances of meeting someone new?â
Bryan was taken aback, unsure how to respond. He noticed a hint of provocation in her eyes.
He replied plainly, âIâll disguise myself so no one will recognize me. Since someone else will be taking my place, I should be the one to pick your next partner.â
Eileen understood just how stubborn Bryan could be.
âIf you miss Gabriela and me, you can justââ Eileen began.
Bryan interjected, âI just came to offer you some advice.â

Eileen resumed eating, feeling that Bryanâs tone was a mixture of half-joking and half-serious.
Soon, they were served another plate of spaghetti. Bryan began eating slowly.
Eileen and Bryan stayed at the restaurant until three in the afternoon.
Roderick came out of the kitchen and noticed Eileen. He shook his hands dry, wiped them on his apron, and walked into the room. Upon seeing Bryan, he was so shocked that he almost jumped up.
âBryan?â His eyes widened. âYouâre alive!â
âIâve always said he isnât dead.â Eileen had insisted to Roderick and the others that Bryan wasnât dead. She couldnât bear to hear the word âdead,â especially since she hadnât seen Bryanâs body.
Roderick was stunned for a moment before quickly sitting next to Bryan. âItâs really good that youâre still alive. Why didnât you tell me you were coming?â
Eileen smiled and replied, âYou were busy. We didnât have anything else to do, so we just sat here and waited for you.â
As they spoke, Denise and Judie walked in, with Denise carrying a plate of fruit.
After everyone took their seats, Denise slid the plate of fruit toward Judie.
âThe restaurant is closed now. I would normally be heading home at this time, but since youâre here today, Eileen, Iâll stay and chat for a while.â Judie glanced at Bryan and asked, âWhere have you been, Bryan? Eileen has been very distressed and has put in a lot of effort to find you.â
Roderick, who wanted to ask the same question, nodded and added, âYes, I was really concerned about Eileen during that time.â
Upon hearing this, Denise quickly interjected, âAs her mother, I was also really worried about her. I tried moving in with her during that time, but Ruby wouldnât have it. I couldnât even see my own daughter. Itâs utterly absurd.â
