Chapter 600:
âEileen, why are you walking so swiftly? Bryan canât keep up with you because of his legs,â Josue said.
âWhy does he want to keep up with me?â Eileen fired back.
Josueâs expression darkened. âBryan will go home with you.â
âWhy should he go home with me?â Eileen replied sharply. âI only brought him back because I see no need for him to hide from me. Donât overthink it. Iâll leave him in your care. Take him to the hospital if he can be saved, or to the morgue if not.â
With that, she turned and walked away briskly.
Bryan couldnât help but chuckle upon hearing her words.
He knew Eileen was upset, but that wasnât such a difficult problem to solve.
âWhy are you laughing now?â Josue asked. âWith her attitude, I wouldnât trust her to care for you. I fear she might just send you straight to the morgue and cremate you.â
âDidnât the doctor advise that Bryan should be ready for exams and treatment in the hospital?â Jacob asked. âBryan, now that youâre back, you should head directly to the hospital.â
It wasnât that Bryan had never received treatment before, but his condition hadnât been consistently monitored, which had prevented the doctors from detecting problems promptly.
That evening, Jacob and Josue took Bryan to the hospital and arranged for his regular doctor to oversee his care at the hospital in Onaland.
Ruby had been waiting for Eileen since hearing of her return.
Gabriela, having not seen Ruby in quite some time, was overjoyed to see her. She babbled in front of Ruby as if they had never been apart.
âHas Bryan returned?â Ruby asked eagerly after spending some time playing with Gabriela.

Ruby was shocked. âHospital? Did he regain his memory? Is there anything wrong with his health?â
âHeâs alright. Donât worry,â Eileen reassured Ruby while taking Gabriela from her arms. She then asked, âHow is Bailee doing?â
âI spoke with Frankie. Winona isnât doing well. Frankie mentioned that the decision was up to the kids. They donât want to hold them back.â Ruby felt a sense of relief from their agreement.
Winona was now back home, with professionals looking after her.
Frankie had suggested that Bailee and Huey move back to live with Winona. That way, if anything happened, they could assist her promptly.
âHas Bailee moved into the Baker familyâs home?â Eileen asked, pleased to hear some positive news.
âYes,â Ruby replied with a smile. âYouâre both dealing with one problem after another. When can I stop worrying?â
âYou can stop worrying now. As long as Gabriela and I are fine, you donât need to worry about anyone else,â Eileen answered.
