Chapter 581:
âSix days,â Jacob replied. âIâve heard theyâre planning a big wedding. Theyâve been considering it for some time. After all, Zelda is the only daughter of the Dury family, and they recently received money from you.â
Zelda had previously said she didnât want a large wedding, but she had changed her mind. It was absurd that she was using the money she had gotten from Eileen to fund the wedding.
Eileen lowered her head and ran her fingers through her hair. There was no way she would just leave.
She needed to find a way to stop Bryan from marrying Zelda.
However, it felt wrong to interfere. She had to find a solution that was both perfect and ethical.
But her hopes had just been shattered. The pent-up negative emotions from the past few days overwhelmed her, leaving her thoughts in disarray.
âLet me look after Gabriela tonight,â Josue suggested, noticing her distress. âYou seem really upset. What if Gabriela gets sick because youâre not able to care for her properly?â
Eileen couldnât refute that. Lately, she had been feeling terrible and struggling with sleep. When she did manage to sleep, it was hard for her to wake up.
Recently, Gabriela had kicked off her blankets several times during the night, and Eileen hadnât been able to wake up and tuck her in. She was worried Gabriela might catch a cold if this continued. Feeling even worse today, Eileen accepted Josueâs offer.
âBut youâll need to stay here,â she said.
Josue and Jacob had been staying at a small hotel in a nearby town, only visiting the village during the day. Eileen didnât want them to take Gabriela away from here.
Josue immediately replied, âOkay. That wonât be a problem.â

Josue left with Gabriela. The village was quite large, and Zeldaâs house was in a corner, a considerable distance from where Eileen was staying.
Carrying Gabriela, Josue sweated heavily and breathed hard from the exertion. After reaching an open space near Zeldaâs house, Josue began sending messages to Bryan, urging him to come back quickly.
Bryan didnât respond.
Josue then mentioned he had brought Gabriela here.
Soon after, he saw Bryan approaching in a hurry, clearly struggling with each step.
When Bryan saw Gabriela in Josueâs arms, his calm demeanor crumbled, his emotions overwhelming him.
âCan you hold her?â Josue moved closer to Bryan and said, âLet me help you. You wonât be able to hold her once she starts walking on her own.â
Bryan dropped his cane and wiped his hands on his clothes. Before he could figure out how to hold Gabriela, she reached out her hands and leaned toward him. She smiled sweetly and babbled.
Gabriela leaned against Bryanâs chest, gripping his collar with her tiny hands.
