Chapter 530:
Inside the elevator, he let go of her arm and looked at her with concern. âWhatâs going on? You seem off.â
âItâs just my eyelid twitching. Maybe itâs telling me that taking over EB Group is a bad idea,â Eileen said with a light chuckle, massaging her eyelid.
Bryan smiled gently, his attention lingering on the elevatorâs ascent until they reached the top floor.
âI put together your office. I chose the desk and chairs to suit your taste,â he said, holding Eileenâs hand as they walked into the office. Sunlight streamed through the expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, filling the room with a bright glow around noon.
The sprawling view of Onalandâs cityscape stretched out before them.
But just as Eileen started to take in the view, her personal phone rang. The unfamiliar number on the caller ID brought a rush of anxiety to her heart.
âHello, is this Miss Curtis? Weâre calling from the security service. Thereâs been a breach at your residence. A van forced entry, and your mother and daughter have been taken hostage by individuals from the vanâ¦â

He exclaimed, âDamn it! Iâll ask him again!â He quickly dialed Dewittâs number. Dewitt picked up immediately.
Josue asked, âWhy exactly have you come here? Have you deceived me, you scoundrel?â
The air crackled with tension on Dewittâs end.
A cacophony of foreign languages filled the air.
Dewitt simply reassured Josue, âRelax, your friend will be okay.â
âFucking hell, Iâll kill you!â Josue swore angrily, but the call ended before he could finish.
Josue was furious and worried. He stared at his phone, unsure of what to tell Bryan.
He didnât know what Bryan was facing, and every second counted.
He eventually called Bryan, his jaw clenched. The phone rang twice before Bryan answered.
Josue said, âHe lied before. Youââ
