After a brief silence, Bryan massaged the bridge of his nose and instructed coldly, “Keep an eye on them, and let me know immediately if anything happens.”

“I’m on it; don’t worry,” Josue assured him confidently. “Because of this, I’ve had to deal with my ex-wife again. You owe me a favor now.”

Bryan laughed lightly. “Isn’t that exactly what you wanted? Stop pretending!”

From the other end of the line, Josue exclaimed, “Bryan, you’re heartless! Have you forgotten about me since Eileen came along? Remember, when we launched the venture capital firm, you promised you wouldn’t leave me hanging!”

Bryan abruptly ended the call.

Josue swore under his breath and booked a flight back to Onaland, determined to make Bryan pay by giving Gabriela a big kiss right in front of him.

Back in control of Apex Group, Bryan dismissed Zola first. The notice had reached her even before Bryan came to his office.

When Zola got the news, she was summoned by Kian to a bar tucked away in an alley—a place not frequented just for casual drinks.

Among a crowd of shabbily dressed men and women, Kian stood out, almost unrecognizable to Zola.

As they sat there, Zola quickly realized that Kian hadn’t invited her just to mingle with others, but to keep him company.

“The women here are dirtier than you,” Kian whispered to Zola. “Though I’ve found plenty of men for you, at least they’re clean.”

He couldn’t say the same for the crowd around them.

Zola gritted her teeth and retorted, “Just because someone is disease-free doesn’t make them clean. Kian, you’re a bastard!”

“I’m a bastard? At least I’m not as cruel as you. Stop pretending you’re so pure and noble,” Kian said.

Zola cursed through clenched teeth. “Kian, if I had known this was your true nature, I would have severed ties with you long ago. Your so-called affection for me is an insult!”

Kian’s face darkened. “An insult, you say? Let’s see how low you really are in front of me. Drink this now!”

Zola had no choice but to comply.

Kian had incriminating videos of her on his phone. Any resistance from her, and he would show them to everyone in the bar for free…

After consuming quite a bit of alcohol, Zola received a call from HR informing her that she had been terminated.
