Chapter 1130:
However, he could not allow Eileen to suffer just because Stella had always been good.
Recalling that past, Stella felt a twinge of regret and was at a loss for words. The room fell silent. Even Eileen, who stood on the stairs, instinctively slowed her breathing. She remembered that Bryan had never requested a paternity test since becoming aware of Gabrielaâs existence. His trust in her clearly surpassed anything she had imagined.
âMrs. Dawson?â Jarred looked at Eileen with concern.
Suddenly, Bryan and Stella noticed Eileen. Bryan quickly stood up, his lips pressed together as he looked at Eileen.
Eileen smiled warmly at Jarred as she made her way downstairs to the living room. âItâs just a simple paternity test. We are going to the hospital tomorrow anyway, and we can take Gabriela to have the paternity test,â she explained.
Bryan frowned, about to speak, but Eileen continued, âI understand your concerns, Stella. If something like this happens again in the future, please feel free to tell me directly. Iâll clarify any misunderstandings, so you wonât feel uncomfortable around Gabriela, which could affect your relationship with her.â It was true that she felt disappointed. She could understand, but she couldnât be indifferent for Bryanâs sake.
âEileenâ¦â Stella said. âIâm to blame for what happened before you got married. I understand if you feel uncomfortable. If you need someone to blameâ¦â
âLetâs just forget about the past,â Eileen replied. Bryan grasped her wrist, his slender fingers wrapping around it. He remained seated. Eileen continued, âYou can choose a hospital and have someone you trust perform the test.â
She didnât want to make things worse. She just wanted to clear Stellaâs suspicions.

âOkay, thank you,â Eileen replied, accepting Stellaâs offer. Stella wasted no time, contacting the hospital that very afternoon.
On the way back, Eileen received a lot of messages from Phoebe.
âDonât take Stellaâs words personally,â Bryan said. After thinking for a while, Bryan still wanted to ask her what she thought about the matter.
Eileenâs expression was surprisingly calm, without a hint of unhappiness.
Without even glancing at Bryan, Eileen replied curtly, âOkay.â
Her brief response instantly made Bryan frown. Before he could say anything, she added, âPhoebe and Jacob invited us to dinner tonight.â
âI can handle the arrangements,â Bryan said.
âI know Grandma just arrived, and itâs a bit awkward to leave her alone with my mother, but honestly, Iâm exhausted from Phoebeâs nonstop messages. How about we go out and leave Gabriela at home?â Eileen assumed that Leyla and Ruby wouldnât feel awkward with each other when Gabriela was around.
When Eileen and Bryan returned with Gabriela, they found Ruby and Leyla talking, sitting at opposite ends of the sofa.
âIâm fifty-seven years old,â Ruby said.
